Chatterbox: Down to Earth

CallieFor th

Callie

For the past week or so, I've been seeing this little tiny calico kitten at the door of one of my neighbor's houses. It's a glass door, and the border is just low enough that I can see the cat's chest and up. Every time my dog and I pass by it on one of our walks, I take a picture, which I’ll be putting here. After a bit, I started calling the kitten Callie, because it was a calico.

The events thus far:

Wednesday, June 29. I saw the calico kitten for the first time today. It seems to be a dilute calico-- one of the patterns that I lovelovelove. (Dilution is caused by a gene; if both parents have it the kitten will have a lighter coat color.) It let me get pretty close, enough to take a picture (I’ll attach it once the thread posts) though once my dog started barking it ran up the stairs.

Thursday, June 30. The cat was there again! I only got a picture from across the street, but it's a picture nonetheless.

Saturday, July 1. I’m fairly certain the owner knows that I’m obsessed with the kitten-- though they might have been talking to my dog when they asked if I/she was "looking for the kitten?" It was today that I started calling it Callie.

Unfortunately, because of all the fireworks lying around, my mom has been walking the dog for thhh the past few days. Hopefully I’ll get to see Callie again soon. I’ll try to update this thread whenever I do see her!

That sounds fun! I like watching some horses a few blocks away from my house, and I've named them all too. They're all mares and foals, and the foals are so cute!

Pretty sure Callie and her humans are on vacation right now, or I at least hope they are. The wooden door has been closed for a while, so no Callie, and I haven't seen the humans around either.

I shall instead compensate with pictures!
