Do we want to start with an alphabet?

Sure!

First it might be nice to establish where this language is spoken, though. Just a personal preference, since I like to draw on the language's story-surroundings for inspiration. Some questions for consideration:

What's the climate? Is it a futuristuc language, with more down-to-business ekements, or perhaps a language built for flow and the creativity of putting ideas together in a mosaic? Is it an ancient language with deeply ingrained cultural aspects, or a dying/dead language spoken by the last few surviving Eldritch beings? Was it crafted by a certain species? Would they have limitations on sounds they could make? How could it be influenced by the politics/cultures of its world? (kinda like how English has so much influence from other languages like Greek, Latin, French and German due to world-scale events/politics from centuries ago).

Although it's not necessary to answer all of these, it might help if we wanna do some world-building around the conlang. Don't stress about it or get too pressured to make up an elaborate backstory though. Yes, I tend to do that, but it's absolutely not the only way to craft a language! I really love delving into the details and reasons for why things are the way they are, but not every cooking needs that amount of depth. Just do what feels right to you! :)
