I'm sorry to hear it. Personally, I agree with you. Since SMS posted as multiple people, the level of paranoia on Chatterbox is at higher proportions. First of all, I urge you not to leave Chatterbox because of this. It will pass, as all our little paranoias do. (We're trying to take over the world, so we can afford a little paranoia now and then.) Now, this is adressed to all of Chatterbox. We can't let what one person did make us think all new people are avatars of other people. What some of us have posted on "hi i'm new" threads is really rude, and probably scared off one or two actual people. So, cool it, everyone.

And Kristin, wait this out. We can be nice, promise.

And top, because I think people need to see this. Oh, and Kirsten, SMS is not entirely to blame. Some people (you know who you are) are really overreacting to the whole situation.

I agree with Reuben. All new people should be treated as real unless we have proof otherwise—or at least some evidence besides a little similarity between posts!

Seriously, if anyone reading this is making up a false identity, just come clean!!!! We forgive you! We'd love to be your friend. Don't be embarrased! SMS, if you're reading this and you've been making up newcomers, PLEASE TELL US!!!!! We want to know!!! It's causing way to much confusion. You're just making it tougher on the real newcomers!!! But if no one confesses as being fake by next Friday the 20th, I will believe that everyone is real. I trust you. But even if anyone is still lying, I'll believe you're real. Ok?

Kirsten, don't worry.  Some Chatterboxers might have gotten a bit too worked up about the whole lying thing and it wasn't good of people like SMS to lie in the first place.  But time will pass and people will forget and things will get better.  We know you aren't SMS, and we won't accuse you.  At least I won't..... But you are welcome on the CB and we are happy to see you! :) *smiles*

On a lighter note, it's pretty awesome that you're from Europe!!  My tree sits on the other side of the great Atlantic Ocean in America. :)  So that's really cool!!!

Honestly, I don't think SMS is going to make up any more false identities. I think she sounded genuinely sorry, and besides that, we have been told she is not coming back. There is no reason to suspect newcomers of being false. I never suspected anyone of being fake.

Besides that, does anyone remember the time when we used to make up new people, "evil plots" as jokes, and then tell everyone a month or so later? I did it. It happened a couple times. And there was nothing wrong with it. So relax, people.

Don't cry! I believe you are 100% real and would really like to be your friend. :)

Mhm. Listen, this is exactly what I did too when I faked [ when I was about 10. ] I did for about a year on another site. When I was accused I became defensive and got ""mad"" at the other person. ;) These tricks, for one, are not working on me.
