We were grouped together on the Make a Friend thread (MaF?), so, well, here's our thread.

So. Hello. I'm Artemis (obviously). You've probably seen me around the CB; I tend to linger around PP & DtE. I don't think we've interacted much, so, well, nice to meet you! (i'm great at this conversationing stuff, aren't I? XD)

As I've said elsewhere, I like reading & writing & drawing & all that jazz. I play violin too, albeit rather amateurishly (if that's a word), and I sing occasionally. I'm in ninth grade, homeschooled.

--music-wise, what sort do you listen to/play?

ah, don't worry about it!

Yeah, I generally used colored pencils too, but I do watercolors every now and again, and they are more versatile than pencils. naturally easier to mess up, though.

that does make sense! winging a ski lodge does not sound exactly advisable, i must say. & yes, i suppose you don't have the chance to revise as you do with writing projects you don't post.

I was planning to launch my ski lodge during Christmas break, but writing the first draft of my story last month really washed me out writing-wise, so idk. i'll make it one of these days, though - writing a ski lodge feels like a sort of rite of passage on the CB, haha. speaking of, how long have you been on here?

Yep, winging a ski lodge is tricky! I'm both disappointed and unsurprised with myself - I can be extremely impulsive, and I was tired one night and I had a half baked idea so I decided to start a ski lodge! With only about 30% of a story! What could possibly go wrong?

Luckily, I caught up with myself and now have an entire plan for the finale, as well as the organization of what's leading up to it. Whew!

I can't wait to see your ski lodge, but can understand why you'd be tired. It's a lot of work! It is kind of a rite of passage by now, I guess, which is pretty cool: "join the CB! Make some characters/AEs! Write an entire story about murder!"

Oh, and I've been on the CB for almost two years now! My CBversary (is that how you spell it? I always forget) is in January. How about you?

haha, thank goodness you did pull it together! can't wait to see what that finale is :]

XD yeah, that's it exactly. the CB has all sorts of strange and wonderful traditions like that - the product of letting imaginative children run wild for -- *does math* -- fourteen years, I guess. (hey, the CB's as old as me!) this is the only place on planet Earth (or the internet, ig?) where one can say "ski lodge" and everyone understands that you mean a murder mystery featuring CBers as the victims, and not, well, a literal ski lodge. it's cool.

nice! I've been here for a little over a year now, I think - my CBversary is October 12. do/did you get Cricket, or did you discover the CB in some other way?

i do get Cricket myself, but now I often feel that its intended audience is a bit younger than me. I've heard that Cricket used to publish Cicada as well, a magazine for writerly/bookish/artistic teenagers (at least that's my understanding)... I know they have magazines for just about every age, and I think that's cool, but I wish they still had magazines for my age. ah well. i do suppose there's hordes of other literary teenage magazines out there; one just has to find them.
