Thanksgiving!

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving!

So, what are you guys doing for Thanksgiving?

For the past few years we've been having it at our

house with my mom's side of the family, but since

my grandma and uncle are in New York City *pouts*

we're going to my other grandma's house. It'll be fun,

because there's going to be lots of people there (even

though we'll still be short of a few people, because my

aunt, uncle, and their two kids are going to be in

Tennessee). It'll probably consist of my grandma (of

course), my uncle and aunt, my other uncle and his four

kids (which along with them will probably come my cousin's

husband and my other cousin's boyfriend), and us. It might

not sound like that much compared to alot of people's

families, but when we get everyone together it's super loud

and crowded (trust me). XD So, anyway, what's everyone

else going to be doing for Thanksgiving? :)

Like last year and I think the year before, I will be going to a friend's house for a potluck Thanksgiving dinner.  They always have a jumper and they invite some of their friends from where they used to live.  One of the friends they invite used to be in my orchestra, but since she's in a different orchestra now, I only see her here, and at concerts.  I'm really excited!!!

Cool! That sounds like fun!! :D We're going to be

leaving for my grandma's house in probably about

a half hour. It's funny, because almost every year

around Thanksgiving everyone is going somewhere

and my mom always has to take care of their pets.

She had to go over to my uncle's house (which is

easy, because he lives right down our street) to

take care of his cats and my grandma's cat, because

she left her there while she was away. And she's

feeding the deer right now, because we have a

neighbor that absolutely adores them and they

wanted us to feed them while they were gone

(you wouldn't believe how many deer are out here O.O).

But my mom had us take care of everyone's dogs

this morning, because she was getting things ready

and needed help. So we took care of our dogs, my

uncle's dogs, and my neighbor's dogs (phew).

And now I'm rambling and I have no idea why I

just told you that. Sorry... O.o

I am leaving for one of my best friend's house in a bit.   The good thing about that is, my mom is really good friends with her mom, and my brother is really good friends with her brother, and my sister is good friends with her sister, and one more set.  So we are kinda a "good friends" family.  We are going over there for dessert.  My dad had to work. :(  But he made us our Thanksgiving meal and we watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade together.

I hope everyone has a great day!

AND... just a question, is anyone upset that people call today "Turkey Day" instead of Thanksgiving?  Today is about being thankful, and giving, so why would we call it turkey day???  AND, some people don't even eat turkey.  I know people who eat HAM!!!

My grandparents are here this weekend from California. Problem is that I've been sick in bed all day (growl grump) so it hasn't been much fun. My grandpa read Shel Silverstein to me, though. He rocks.

Aww! I'm sorry you've been sick. :( *hands virtual "get

well soon" card* Some of my cousins have been sick

on Christmas before *grimace*. And you should be

well by then, at least. :)

Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!

Well we went over to a friends' house the day before Thanksgiving and the moms cooked. My sisters and I and the two girls who live there mostly played. Today we went over to their house and had Thanksgiving there. After we ate we played outside and went in their woods, then we played with their dog and watched some of Prince Caspian. Then we went over to another friends' house and helped decorate their house and tree for Christmas. We played slap jack and spoons (not the music) with the daughter who lives there with her brother and parents. She's 25. Then we played a game of hiding a little stuffed reindeer ornament and trying to find it. It was FUN.

p.s. Happy Turkey Day!!!

I spent Thanksgiving at my grandmother's house. It was fun.

I agree with R~D~ about calling it Turkey Day, but that's kind of obvious, since I'm vegan. But still, I don't understand why people have to call it that. It's supposed to be about giving thanks, like she said, and the first thing people associate it with is a dead bird! It's sad, really... No offense, anyone who calls it that!

The story of my thanksgiving: Start watching Hogfather at midnight.  After it is finished go to bed.  At eight, get woken up by sister telling about kittens.  Go back to sleep and wake up at 11:30 because of Mom.  Brush hair and put pony tail in.  Put shoes on.  Eat half an apple.  Get sweater on and walk out the door after grabbing a bowl of food.  Watch sister drop a pan of lentil loaf and break glass.  After Mom cleans up the glass, get in the car and drive to Aunt's house.  At Aunt's house, read book, stuff self with food, etc....  Goes home.  Does stuff on computer.  Eats more food.  Watches Hogfather again.  Goes to bed.

That was a VERY exciting Thanksgiving wasn't it?  But the days before that were more exciting.  I got to spend the night at a friend's house, make candles, snd wood, clean up glass, watch Inkheart, part of a movie, watch New Moon with friend, do stuff with wax, listen to someone on how his foam sword got broken, found out my friend likes fireflies, blah.

Sorry, rambly.  Um, I would like to say that my head fells very odd right now...

*whimpers* You should have visited your grandma in NYC...  That's where I was...  Actually, I was in this little (*cough*, "little" is still like twice the size of Gorham) city about 30 minutes from NYC.  We drove down on Weds. (it was supposed to only take 6 1/2 hours, but ended up taking 9, because of traffic ((*growls* MA...)) ), hung out at my (rich) aunt's house on Thanksgiving, then drove back to ME on Friday (only took 7 hours that time).  Let's see, my aunt (Donna) and her family (which is my uncle (Tom), and their college daughters Nicole (who calls herself Madison), Lauren (my favoritest cousin ever!), and Cara), my uncle (brothers w/ my dad and Aunt Donna) and his family (my aunt and their 10 yr old son ), that uncle's wife's parents (they're Russian and really hard to understand), my Uncle Tom's brother and his daughter (Ava, who's five), my grandma, and finally my family. :) So 17 ppl?  Plus the dog. :)

My Uncle Tom has a daughter named Nicole too! Except for she's like, four or five I think. For my Thanksgiving I got up, went to church, came home and ate some soup, took a shower, watched a little of the Macy's parade, walked down to my Grandparents house (they live about 45 seconds away) watched Deal Or No Deal with my uncle (that's one game show that DOES NOT take any skill at all), ate Cheetos <3, went to my other Grandparents house, ate tons of food, and then came home. Phew.

AWW! *sniffle* I wish I could've went. It would've been

so cool if by some miracle I could meet a fellow

Chatterboxer! We might have actually went if my mom

didn't have all of these animals to take care of (ours,

my uncle's, grandma's, and neighbors... :\). They were

only up there on vacation themselves, but they said

they loved it! *pouts more* Now I really wish I could

have went. *throws a tantrum* Okay, I'm better now...
