blink-182 or punk

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

blink-182 or punk

blink-182 or punk rock in general

I....have literally no idea why I decided to make this thread. Considering that my best friend and I seem to be the only children our age who actually enjoy this genre, I doubt anyone will care, but..I'm just wondering if anyone does. Because I'm bored and Heroes of Olympus isn't so fun to read after this is your sixth hour reading it. Heh.

Anywayyyyyy that was so off-topic. i just basically want to know if you like blink-182 (or honestly punk rock bc for some reason everybody hates that band) Um. Yeah.

Seriously, why can I not make any threads without sounding extremely awkward? Does anyone relate?!?

What's punk rock? Whatever it is, I have a pun:

There's one band that plays a mixture of jazz and punk. There's a new name for it: junk!

Hm. How do I explain this? I'm not entirely sure you would like it but--It's like rock, with similar instruments and things, but it kind of has a more angry tone to it, sort of...Eh that's not a good description. I mean people do tend to shout a lot of the lyrics, and sometimes it can sound slightly aggressive.

If you're interested, some bands you should listen to are:

1. blink-182, obviously

2. I suppose Blondie can sometimes be punk rock-ish too.

3. The Ramones

4. My Chemical Romance

5.  Paramore

Welp, that's it I guess. :)

Yeah, I don't really like heavy metal. To me (before reading on, make sure there is no offense): it sounds like a bunch of stereotypical teenagers who break into the house and destroy everything they can find, moving from one room to the next, while simultaneously screaming their HEADS off. No offense to any teens or heavy metal bands. But I prefer classical, with the occasional prog rock song. Not Metallica. Cool Oh, and definitely not any cheesy love songs. If you want to get into the Beatles, try more like this if you don't want any cheesy love songs. In no particular order:

1. Octopus's Garden (Yeah, this is a kind-of love song, but it is less of a "I want to have a date with you" song and more of a "I want to have some special time with you" song which makes it aplicabble to not only the cheesy love songs on the radio. But major point: Ringo hasn't thought about how they will breathe underwater. They need air in order to "sing and dance around because we know we can't be found" from the lyrics)

2. Penny Lane (OK, I used to think that this was a love song because "Penny Lane" sounded like a person's name, but then I figured out it's actually just the name of a street. It's one of their best. A barber showing photographs of all the heads he's shaved?)

3. Here comes the sun (See Octopus's Garden. This is another great Abbey Road song. It is more focused on the fact that winter is fading away rather than the person you're talking to.)

4. Pretty much all of Magical Mystery Tour and Abbey Road.

5. Maxwell's Silver Hammer (Why did they make this? It has no real point, it's just ridiculous. Either way, it's definitely not a cheesy love song, so it fits my standards.)

And many others. MAke your own decision!

My favorites right now of blink-182 are Happy Days (sounds weird but its really good) and I Miss You...I also really like All the Small Things and First Date. I would say not all blink-182 songs are actually appropriate, and I don't listen to those necassarily (i spelled that wrong ugh)

I love the song Welcome to the Black Parade by My Chemical Romance--I think thats technically punk rock? I think? Lol. Alsooo crushcrushcrush by Paramore and augh I also don't know if thats classified as punk rock either. I kind of don't care because it's still good.

I think All the Small Things and First Date were actually some of the songs I'd already heard, but they're really good!! I've also listened to Welcome to the Black Parade before -- another really good song! I just listened to Happy Days and wow you're right it's really good!! :D I really enjoyed the other ones you mentioned as well!! I'll be sure to check out other songs by those artists! Thank you! :D
