Toki Pona!

Toki Pona is a constructed language created in 2001 by Canadian linguist Sonja Lang. It has only 120 words (so I became fluent in two days). It is a minimalist language. I think it could potentially become the world language. I have the official book, Toki Pona: the language of good. This is a chat thread for talking about it.

We won't post text in any language other than English, but you're welcome to talk about other languages.

Ooh, yes, I love the idea of Toki Pona! It's really fun, but also can -- ironically-- get complicated fairly quickly lol.

Initially it was made as a very personalised, simplified language for a single person but has caught on in popularity due to its cool concept. I tried making my own version a couple of times, but seeing as I think of things rather abstractly and poetically, it probably has very little practical use.

A version could work as some kind of Star Wars language of a meditating group of people (Yoda is already taken, his native language is Hawaiian, I am not kidding a linguist assessed it, got to learn Hawaiian now)
