Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Calling all gamers!

Calling all gamers!

Hiya, fellow lizards! I thought of a subject I haven't really talked about here before—I actually have no idea if anyone besides me even likes gaming, since everyone's really into books and writing stuff (I am too, ofc), but I thought I'd post this to find out! Some of my favourite games are Minecraft, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 deluxe, Untitled Goose Game, and Unpacking.

I HATH BEEN SUMMONED

YES Breath of the Wild!! and every other Zelda game, too. I've played Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, BotW, and TotK, but I really want Skyward Sword and Ocarina of Time.

I've played a few different Mario Karts, but only Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at a friend's house. I've 100%-ed Mario Kart DoubleDash and almost 100%-ed Mario Kart Wii.

I have also played a couple Mario games, mostly just Super Mario Sunshine and a few original Mario games.

if anyone would like to excitedly discuss Zelda games with me is more than welcome to.

YES, please can we talk about breath of the wild? It's my favourite game EVER. It's the only zelda game I've played becuase we don't own any others, but I'm hoping to get tears of the kingdom for Christmas. *Crosses fingers*

Okay, so what's your favourite divine beast? Mine's probably Vah Ruta, but I also really liked Naboris. (Although it was SUPER hard to fight thunderblight Ganon)

Did you get all the shrines? I haven't yet, but I'm hoping to soon. For a while I could not figure out how to do the 'Test of strength' shrines, but now I can fairly easily do a major test of strength. My favourite kind of shrines are the puzzley ones. I really enjoyed the Twin Memories one. (or should I say two!) What's your favourite shrine?

I don't' have anything else right now, but I'll post later.

it really depends what my favorite Beast was, because Vah Medoh had the most fun prior-puzzle battle, Vah Naboris had the best music, Vah Ruta had the easiest and most interesting puzzle (also the best Champion power), and Vah Rudania had the easiest Blight battle. maybe Medoh or Ruta, idk though XD and I completely agree with you about Thunderblight Ganon. harder than Calamity Ganon in my opinion.

I've gotten all the shrines :) the reward is pretty awesome, too. it really annoys me that it's IMPOSSIBLE to have both max hearts and max stamina at the same time. I just go with max stamina and use extra-heart meals to make up for the missing hearts.

my favorite shrine type is either the blessing ones (cuz I'm lazy) or the ones that are possible to cheat by use of glitches >:D no specific shrine, just the ones I don't have to work hard at XD

(also my least favorite one was by far Path of Hidden Winds near the Rito Flight Range. it took me WAY too long to do, and I ended up Googling how to do it.)

some questions for you:

1: what's your favorite boss? basically anything that has a healthbar and its own theme song. (mine's the various Molduga, just because of the music and the general vibe)

2: what's your least favorite shrine, specifically your least favorite puzzle

also, when you get Tears of the Kingdom, I'd be happy to offer any advice you need :)

(WOW this comment got long... sorry admins)

Okay, my favourite boss... that's hard. My favourite boss in the story is the yiga clan leader, and my favourite boss that you can find is a stone talus. I don't really care what type.

My least favourite shrine... probably tempered power. It took me AGES and I broke a bunch of my weapons... yay, stasis shrines. Bye!

That's really cool! I don't have a Nintendo but if I ever get one I want to play the Zelda games. What are they about? I know a little bit but I don't really remember. They seem really fun though!

-the basic plot of the series is basically, the main hero, Link, reincarnates every three hundred years or so to fight off evil and save the world. he's helped by Zelda (a princess who also reincarnates), Beedle (a traveling merchant, it's debatable wether he actually reincarnates or not), and other characters. as for the villian (also reincarnates), I'll let you find that out for yourself ;)

(the plot varies quite a bit though)

-pretty much all of the games have some level of violence to them, ranging from stabbing the main villian in the gut to killing wild animals for food. however, anything killed during gameplay, wether it be monsters or animals, will simply puff into smoke.

-depending on the console, the best Zelda games for beginners would be Wind Waker or Breath of the Wild. both are relatively simple, and Wind Waker is the most 'mild' game in the franchise, with bright colors and a friendly, whimsical atmosphere. Breath of the Wild is similar, but slightly more realistic and complex in style.

I 100% recommend the Legend of Zelda, it's an amazing series that has changed my life forever.

Okay, so it is, unfortunately, another 'boy saves the princess' themes, but it's nice becuase the princess, Zelda, is kinda guiding he boy, Link, so at least she's not completely helpless. Okay, so here's the story:

A long time ago, there was a big fight against calamity ganon, the bad guy, but they didn't win. He... killed link, in a way, but, link woke up again after sleeping for 100 years. There are these 'Divine Beasts' that are kinda like huge animal robots who have been taken over by ganon, so you need to find and get to each one, to bring it back to your side. When you get to it, you have to go through a bunch of puzzles, and when you reach the end there's a boss. After you've taken over all 4 divine beasts, you go fight ganon.

So yeah, that's the basic story. But, there are a lot of other concepts, like doing shrines so you can get more hearts and stamina, finding memories that give you a really cool backstory, side quests, etc, etc.

In conclusion: this is the best game in the world, but it's also really complicated and hard.

Addie says /trekw/ you're right, you do have to do a lot of trekking in breath of the wild.

I like gaming! I have a PS5 and I mostly play Spider-Man, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, and Skyrim. I'm really hoping to get Spider-Man 2 for Christmas!

If anyone wants to talk about those games I'd love to. Even if you don't know what they are I'm happy to tell you about them :]
