Jellycat/Stuffie Thread?

Jellycat/Stuffie Thread?

ok, I know I already have the stuffed animal improv over in Inkwell... but here's another stuffie thread! Bc Blackfooted Bobcat has literally gotten me and my mom obsessed with Jellycats (wHy aRe tHey sO eXpEnSiVe) and it'd be cool to see who else is too/if anyone has any (I got 3 in the span of 2 months! Yay! Still can't quite believe it! And they each have stories behind them if you want to hear :) )...

bc I still feel bad for not spending as much time with all my way too many stuffies than usual (I used to sleep with a different one each night so none of them felt left out... oh, those happy (g)olden days of yorn!)...

and literally just bc. Who knows if anyone's even gonna reply to this thread. :) So. Stories about your stuffies, introducing your stuffies, pictures of stuffies in funny poses, fun facts, really anything stuffed animal/Jellycat related (I mean seriously stop looking at me like that Sea Turtle Love that's your name ok and it's final no I am not calling you "Jolene" even though that's what it says on your name tag your name I declare is Sea Turtle Love and end of conversation!)!

I don't own any jelly cats myself, but my baby sister has three. They're so adorable! She has a dragon, a girrafe, and a bunny. Their names are Rain, (the dragon) Clover, (the bunny), and Floppy, (The giraffe.) I mostly collect beanie boos, and I have 6 dragons, a fox, a cat, and a girrafe.

Here's a fun stuffie storie! (Or doll story Ig) so, me and my family were on a camping trip, and we went into a gift shop. I saw a national park ranger doll, and immediatly fell in love. For anyone else who has camped in the national parks in the states, you'll know there's these little 'junior ranger' activity books where you pick up garbage, go on a certain hike, draw your campsite, do naturey word-searches, etc, etc. So, my parents told me that when I finished the one for that national park, (I don't remember which one it was... maybe Kings Canyon?), I could get the doll. I eventually did complete it, and we went back to the store to buy it. At the time the river was going CRAZY there, super fast and loud. So, I named the doll river, which is actually a really pretty name, so I'm kinda impressed with my 6-year-old self lol.

Anywaaay, great idea for a thread! I love talking about my stuffie stories! I actually have probably 50 stuffed animals altogether, so I have LOTS of things to talk about haha XD

I WAS LITERALLY ABOUT TO MAKE THIS THREAD -! i was just topping your other thread too XD

What Jellycats do you have? Also i know they're so ridiculously expensive *sobs*

I have a whole world with my stuffies. Chrysanthemum Jasper is probably my "main" stuffie because treat is the one I take everywhere, but Oolong is also really big in the world, and none of them are unimportant really. And then there are some old ones, many of whom I didn't make stories about and a lot of whom I want to give away because they're not very special to me anymore.

Anyway, Chrysanthemum Jasper likes spooky things, is also kind of easily scared. Treat loves candy too, hence treats main pronouns being treat/treats/treat/treatself (same format as he/his/him/himself), though treat uses a lot more and I'll probably use them at some point. Treats favorite drink is pumpkin hot chocolate (which I've actually made and it was good, though I need to figure out a way to improve the texture which shouldn't be hard) but treat also likes tea. Treat is an ameateur witch, making a lot of potions that don't always work the way they should, but kills every plant treat tries to grow. So instead, treat gets treats plants from others, like maybe-Honeycomb (whose name might change, they're new) and Trinket Cookie-Crumbs, who forages. Chrysanthemum is a Jellycat Bashful Tiger, Trinket Cookie-Crumbs is a Jellycat Bashful Raccoon, and Oolong is a Jellycat Smudge Elephant. Oh, and also from another thread: "anyway i'd imagine treat got the hot chocolate from Oolong. I can't imagine that Chrysanthemum taffyself would be a very good cook, but I haven't actually established that..."

Most of the stuffies in this world are newer Jellycats, but some of them aren't, like Junpei. He's an old "bring everywhere" stuffie and he's super sweet and pretty beat up. He's a Douglas cat. There's also Cloudinia, a cheetah who's missing an eye and is even older than Junpei, and Minty (I don't like their name though, but it also fits them...), a turquoise tiger.

I also have a "retired stuffie", Amethyst Dreamchaser, who is so beat up I'm scared she'd fall apart if I did too much more with her. I saved up for her and took her everywhere for several years. She lives in peace in my room :D Maybe she could be an elder in my world, though. I had never thought of that.

the world itself kind of has multiple iterations/areas, but the one I've liked most recently is kind of like a lightly haunted/magic carnival. Like there's magic cotton candy (to copy from another thread, "in this world some of the cotton candy slowly turns to wisps when it touches the air, so as you eat bits break off and fly away"). it's kind of hard to describe, but kind of wispy and magical and as I said, lightly haunted though ghosts aren't a big thing at the moment. they might be later though because ghosts are cool. i have a lot of pictures in my head because i spend a lot of time imagining this but they're kind of fragmented if i try to put them into words.

there's a carousel to the side of the carnival. It should be broken, but it keeps spinning without any sort of power source. what the horse ride things are varies. also there are vendors with all sorts of cool stuff at the carnival. and then there's the woods, with Honeycomb's house, and Oolong's house which has several "versions", and a town by the carnival with shops and houses (that's where Junpei lives) and probably more stuff I haven't discovered.

Yay! Glad ppl are interested! :)

@WildWolf, I love those names! And which dragon (if you happen to know? Or just what color is it?)? Nice story! I agree, River is a pretty name. And ooh you camp in National parks? That's great! Yeah, the Junior park ranger activity is fun :)

@Blackfooted Bobcat (I just realized I never asked, are you ok with ppl calling you BB? I've just been doing it without realizing, sorry), I'm just gonna give you all the backstories behind my jellycats bc I was hoping someone would ask (which Ig you kinda did? But I'll take anything as an excuse!) which I just promptly deleted I wrote so many unnecessary paragraphs (5 huge ones, as I do) ahhhh!!!! Welp, half an hour of my limited time, gone to (sorta) waste. Ok. Here we go again.

Sorry if all the enthusiasm feels forced/lacking now, I promise it was genuine before, I'm trying to recall exactly what I said before... actually no I'm just gonna improvise, as in take out some parts I said before it's too much work to rewrite it all and I should be sleeping

My 1st Jellycat is a white kitten caboodle named Meryl/Mer (she/her), and I love the play on words and her little question mark tail and she's kinda like my support for NaNoWriMo you can see everything sorta unfold here: www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/inkwell/node/557671?page=2 (the drawing is on the 1st page I think), and yup we weren't even looking for her we just found her on accident and she was expensive but then we had to get her bc it was too much of an amazing conscience woah this is like a third to a half the size of my previous paragraph glad I decided to just do a sort of summary instead (though you miss a big rant on books, but oh well, at least you also gained some time back :) ). She loves to wear my bracelet as a crown XD it fits perfectly on her head!

My 2nd Jellycat is a super-expensive I think was it Ambrosie Squirrel (well, that's what I said in the prev post, I know now it is, but still including it cuz I'm weird like that and will feel guilty if I don't (also why I'm putting all these parentheses here too) :) ) named Gian Furlough Acorn Harlowe (no nicknames or shortcuts sorry). And we've finally decided on a pronoun set that works (for now at least)! Ve/vim/vis/vimself! And ve's backstory is way longer than Mer's (especially now), so uh watch out (and kudos to you if you're actually reading all this! Which automatically goes for the admins, sorry I always post super long stuff and always apologize for it and never do anything about it, idk it's always been that way since at least 2nd grade, and I feel so like eek if I don't write every single thing I'm thinking atm (first time using this abbreviation! And in the prev post I used "smth" too, also I think (??) my first time for that one! Wow that was a conveniently and randomly placed example there), and then again if I write all that then don't post/submit it (my poor teachers too)...)? But yeah. So on Dec 1 (judging from my first post about vim) I had a dance concert - I just (well, 30 min ago now just) realized @Blackfooted Bobcat that I didn't respond to all your replys here: www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/downtoearth/node/394863?page=735 (I love how this web adress seems unsure what the node (assuming what a "node" is idk) is XD) so sorry I suppose it's too late to answer now... but I'm extremely late kinda response I used to dance ballet but stopped during covid and now mostly do musical theater and random (what we did for that concert, basically just it depends on the music. Like, we might dance more lyrical to a sad slow song, or more hip-hop-y to a faster-paced one), and only dance ballet as a totally unofficial made-up thing to semi-annoy my friends (separate rant), I still love it though - and since it started/dancers had to get there at like 5:00 and school ended at like 2:30 I stayed after school and being the socially-awkward-starting-a-new-school-self-isolating person that I am, I decided that instead of hanging out with my maybe-friends (??) also staying behind, I would just go up to this secluded place and sit literally on top of a wall there behind this big truck-thing (idk why it was parked there just for that day and a few other days) where almost no one can see me and go squirrel watching! No regrets at all, the squirrels were so rewarding :DDD andd now it's almost midnight let's finish this fast. So I got super lucky cuz sometimes there are no squirrels at all but this time there were 2!! And they were amazing!! They were playing (I say playing bc it definitely didn't look like fighting at all, like the whole thing just was very friendly and I wrote this explanation better last time but just, no matter what my recount seems like, being there in the moment, it definitely did not feel like fighting (though I suppose it could be... but more likely playfighting). Anyways, here's the recount as I wrote it I'm tired

Squirrel 1: runs to the end of branch 1

Squirrel 2: promptly follows. TAG! Runs to the end of branch 2

Squirrel 1: looks at Squirrel 2 for a moment

Squirrel 2: looks back at Squirrel 1

Squirrel 1: runs over to Squirrel 2. TAG!

and over and over and over again!! Oh and it's 12:01 now, welp! Anyways, it was great, squirrels are seriously unappreciated (finally!! I'm back at the squirrel rant!! Let's see if I can do it all over again?)!! They're masterminds!! Their evil geniuses!! They know things we never will and never can!! They can fly!! And mostly, they are SO. ADORABLE. Hency why literally no exaggeration every single time I see a squirrel I totally freak out which no one understands bc they're so common I see them every day but they literally never cease to amaze me!! If you haven't read this month's MCU, National Squirrel Appreciation Day is I think Jan 29!! And tangentially, National Bird Day was Jan 5, just passed (another under appreciated creature! Ppl are always like "I have better things to do than stare at birds all day" but I'm like what better things, in the full perspective of life?? What is life if you don't take some time now and then to look at the birds?? And "better" is relative anyway! But ok, Ig I understand... ppl have jobs. Ppl are busy and most importantly stressed out. But still! Hmph. Well, Ig the birds may or may not care anyway. But off-topic!)! So mark your calendars people! :) But anyways. And now that I'm almost but not quite bc yes I did have more done with the squirrel/bird rant, I'm gonna stop, cuz seriously this is crazy I need to sleep there's school tomorrow and this is probably a bad decision cuz I just know I'm gonna lose motivation that's what happened the first time I made a long post then lost it (sorry @Amethyst!! It's still coming!! I hope!!), bye! And hope you don't lose motivation reading all this too.. oops? :/ And no rereading/editing sorry if this is horrible

if you all want a summary or easier-to-read formatting (woah big block of text) I'd be happy to give one! :)

I don't have any jellycats, but I do have many stuffed animals that I can't think of getting rid of any of them; I like to think that they are also conscious even though scientifically they aren't (which is interesting). Once one of my stuffies (I call them "friends" as I don't really have too many "real" friends) went missing and I was so upset until I realized he was hidden in one of my droors! In the event that we move I'll probably have multiple boxes dedicated to my friends, or I'll just put them in a suitcase that I carry.

every time i try to get rid of my stuffed animals, i can't bring myself to do it. so, naturally, i do what any sane person would do--i buy more! at this point, my bed, closet, and under my bed are so chock-ful of stuffed animals that there's practically nothing else in there. h e l p .
