Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Yes! It got

Yes! It got up to 62 degrees here today! All the snow is gone, and it was warm enough to have a T-shirt without a jacket! As I type, the window is open, and I can smell the spring-y way our yard smells this time of year. We've had an exceptionally cold and snowy winter, so this is really nice.

How's spring around everyone else? :)

Um.  Well.  In SoCal (southern California), we had a pretty hot week (in the 80s) and this week it's cooling off.  We had a considerable amount of rain (not that much for everyone else) during winter and now it's "spring."  Our seasons are as follows:

Summer (really long and hot.....until late September)

Fall (November if we're lucky, with temperatures dropping to the 50s *gasp*)

Winter?? (December-January/February with light rains and high 40s to mid-60s)  Spring (March-beginning of June: mild weather, flowers bloom, sun shines consistently (except for the rare sprinkle), 70-80)

And the summer, the main season of the year takes over and dominates the year.

Of course, people are shivering in 50 degree weather saying, "Oh my gosh, it's so cold!  What am I going to do?"  Yeah.  So can I really say there is a drastic change??

I was in SoCal this last week, and it was pretty warm. Gorgeous, though. Lucky ducks - you actually get things like grass and flowers on the sides of your roads. We get sagebrush and rocks. ;)

And today we had fake chocolate milkshakes for snack (cocoa powder, ice cubes and milk instead of ice cream), even though it wasn't really warm enough. :) First of the year!

It's pretty warm out- maybe the low 60's, which is pretty high for this time of year for us New Yorkers who live right by Onondaga Lake. (Ugh, we have lake effect ALL the time).

Wait, so the SoCal on my Hollister t-shirt stands for Southern California? *smiles* I get it now.... :) There's still a few bunches of snow that hasn't melted yet, but hopefully it will soon. ;)

Hehe. Here, it is about... 30 degrees, F. But, I still took the dogs for a kick-sled with only a sweater on! Yep, thats what we do here. We Kick-sled. I roped up My doggie Daisy, and she pulled me to see the pups while brandy just ran along.

Brrrr!  Although, I admit, it's nice to know that not EVERYONE is sitting on a tropical beach while You're freezing.  Stay warm!
