Have you guys

Have you guys heard of the Four Temperaments? If you google it you can find some tests and stuff. What is your Temperament? I think I'm a little bit of everything, but mostly Melencholic & Choloric.

I think, from your description, that you might mean the Four Humours? I'm like you -- melancholic and chloric. Hold on -- *googles*. Wow. i really am melancholic. According to the wikipedia description, melancholics are perfectionists, independent, thoughtful, considerate, creative. That's me to the T. (If I may say so myself.)

I checked and it's called the Four Temperaments, but I think it's called the Four Humours too. Yeah I'm a lot Melancholic too! I think I am Chloric too because I am also competative and tend to get jealous sometimes (Embarassed) But according to other sources that means I am part Sanguine, and someone said that you cannot be Melencholic and Sanguine. Sigh. It's confusing! :)

P.S. Are you shy and easily embarrassed? I am hehehe. I think that's another Melencholic trait....

Re: Shy & easily embarrassed -- yes, I am! But I am also uber-competitive. You don't want to play Monopoly with me if you value your life. :-)

I'm not a perfectionist, either. More like, "Huh, I messed that f up in my handwriting. Who cares? it's perfectly readable." 8someone asks, "whats that?" and pionts at a scribble.* me: "Oh, that's an 'f'" other person, " Well, it does sort of look like an f in this angle..." And other stuff like that.

I took one of the tests and it said I was melancholic, but most of what it described as melancholic wasn't really me.

According to one sourse, it is possible to be both melancholic and Sanguine. And technically, everyone has a bit of every temperament in them, so it's impossible not to...

As to them also being called the 4 humours: Well, long ago, there was this medical theory that the human body was mainly composed of 4 basic liquids, called humours, which were necessary for survival. If they were in balance, they brought good health and happiness, but if one was too strong, it was considered a bad thing. Later, someone thought that maybe different humours brought different temperments. That's why they can be called both.
