Chatterbox: Down to Earth

*cries* *sniffles* I'

*cries* *sniffles* I'm missing my school chorus concert! :(  It's supposed to be tonight at 7, but I lost my voice (and it's quite painful) and I can't sing! (well I can barely talk) *cries some more*  This is all because of my very stupid tonsils.  I get strep throat all the time!  Now I can't even go to my concert, which we have been working on since January!  Tommorow is our move up day (it's really early this year) so hopefully I'll be there, but I'm not sure if I'll be talking fully.

~ Smile :(

*eek!  My name is lying!! Make it stop!!

I'm so sorry, Smile. How disappointing! I remember having chicken pox on Halloween when I was 7. I lay on my bed, looking out the window at all the kids walking the street in their costumes. I hope you're better soon.

Oh, that's so sad!  I hope you get better soon!!  But I just wanted to let you know, I was thinking to myself, wow, Smile has made some great threads and I'm so glad she came!  Yeah, so thanks for coming.  Because of some of your great threads, the Chatterbox seems more active!!!  Thanks!!  Get better!

P.S. Admin, that's awful.  That must have been horrible.  At least if I was sick on Halloween, I wouldn't see kids dressed in costumes and feel bad, because trick-or-treaters never come in my tiny neighborhood.  :)

Thanks, R~D~. I did feel pretty bad at the time. To this day I remember my costume was a Dutch girl with wooden shoes, and the next year it was too small.

I know exactly how both of you feel, Smile and Admin, because I've been in 3 similar situations! Actually, 2 were almost exactly the same as each of yours, oddly enough. But I'm very sorry.

When I was about... Well, somewhere from 6-8, I guess... I was sick on my Halloween, although it wasn't the chicken pox. When I was 8, I moved to a different town, but I had to leave right before our very first recorder concert that I was so excited about! I don't play the recorder anymore, but I still have our music for that concert memorized, and to this day, I can play it very quickly. And just recently, I I lost my voice and couldn't go to a school choral concert! Honestly! It wasn't because of my tonsils, though.

Really, despite all the differences, it's a rather startling coincidence, isn't it? About being sick on Halloween and missing the choral concert. If I were someone else just reading this, I'm not sure if I'd completely believe myself, actually. It's true, though!

Yes, startling coincidences!

We have been looking foward to this for soo long too. I guess there is some good news, my fever is gone! *somewhat celebrates*

@katie: Once I had the stomach flu on Xmas Eve and Xmas. It was so horrible, I didn't even want to open my presents. And knowing me, that is really unusual.

Well, if I know anything about losing your voice it must be a relief to unburden yourself here. Once I had laryngitis and it was horrible!! It was painful and I kept having to cough and that aggrivated it, and even just a teeny-tiny little moan hurts. And nobody knows how bad it is, 'cause you can't tell them. My sympathies entirely! I hope you get well soon!
