Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Summer Plans!

Summer Plans!

Is anybuggy going to do something over the summer??  I'm going to Overnight Camp (as usual), basketball camp (don't want to do it), golf league (pretty fun actually), and I might be going on vacation. My mom keeps saying that she has something planned for us this summer with our (practically family) neighbors. We might go to FL because they have a condo there. (Just a hunch)

Anyway who has summer plans, and if you do, tell us when you won't be on Chatterbox too, because that would be useful. :) Does anybuggy go to an amusement park for their school picnic?? (If you're not homeschooled)

I'm probably going to my overnight camp that I always go to, just because I always go to it; idk, it hasn't been that fun lately.

In August, I'm going to the first day of Soulfest (it's like a four day Christian music festival).  I basically only really wanted to go the first day (because Switchfoot will be there), but I thought it'd be fun to go the whole four days, but none of my friends wanted to go the whole time.  So yeah, we're driving down for just the one day (it's in New Hampshire), and it should be pretty fun. :)

Vacations? (ohhhhh you might go to Florida... <3 <3 <3) We were GOING to go to New Brunswick, and I was actually pretty excited, because I've only been to Canada once.  And it sounds like a good place to take pictures.  But it turns out, my cousins are coming up to Maine instead, and we're gonna spend a week at a cabin on Moose Head Lake (if you look at a map of Maine, it's basically the biggest lake).  I guess it'll be fun, but I'd really rather that they came to New Brunswick with us.  Ah well.  Maybe I'll see a moose.  Or a bear!  Bahaha, now I'm excited...

And in reply to your last question, even if Southern Maine had a theme park (...besides Funtown Splashtown USA.... -_-), and even if I went to school, my town's schools aren't cool enough to go on field trips like that.  They pretty much make field trips to the local library (oh, well, no, they went to a lake last week).  Actually, I believe the physics team went to Funtown once.  Anyway, I'm sorta talking to myself and I need to go to bed, so yeah bye. :)

@ Kenzie.  When your camp hasn't been as fun recently, I'm guessing you mean the past year(s).  Don't let camp be boring!!  Try to make even the rather less amusing things seem fun.  I'm going to camp this summer for my seventh or eighth year. (I did Kids Camp since I was 4 or 5 but now I go overnight.)  I LOVE camp!! Maybe doing it with friends will make it more fun for you.  IDK? I'm not really good at solving problemy thingies like this.  :P

Thanks, Cherry. :) This will be my fifth year (I think?)!  It's actually my "friends" that are sort of the issue at the camp; the first couple years I went, before they had ever gone, were quite fun, but then I invited them and suddenly camp stunk.  I made a thread about it a realllllllyy long time ago (haha, ok, maybe a 1 1/2 years ago), but I'm too lazy to find it. :) But my "friendships" have been improving lately, so it should be better this year.  Thanks though! :)

This summer, we'll, (my family and I. :)) be exploring the New England area and lots of other states like IL, WI, MN, OH, and probably more. :) This weekend, we'll be in Washington D.C., exploring the Smithsonian!!!! I can't wait! :)

In Illinios, be sure to visit the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Library in Springfield. Then go the the public cemetery (I think it's called Oakwood, but I'm not sure. They can tell you and give you directions at the museum.) to see Lincoln's tomb. It's so moving.

My sibling was born yesterday! Her name is Sarah (not a name I'm personally in love with, but it does fit her) and she was 9 pounds 5 ounces! That's almost a pound more than most of our other babies, almost two pounds more than the smallest! Of course, she was 12 days late, so I guess that counts for something. She has dark hair (the last two were redheads) and kind of big hands for her size. Now I have three brothers and four sisters!

And she wasn't born on my birthday! :)

This is my first year ever doing summer camps!!! I did a two day camp at a college career institute in my county, which was really fun. I chose to do broadcast/video and cosmetology.

In broadcast we made a commercial about an imaginary product. We decided on "Lame-B-Gone". It's a spray you, well, spray on something or someone to make them un-lame. It was funny.

And in cosmetology a girl did a manicure on me and I did a manicure on her, and the second day we got to foil a manikine's head! It was SO much fun! I named my manikine "Penelope Lucille".

Next week I'm going to be taking an author program. I'm really excited!

Next Friday we (my family and I) are driving to some place in Georgia to an American Legion thing that my sister (who has been on here in the past) was invited to because she did this documentory about the American Legion for National History Day. And at the beginning of July we'll be driving the fourteen hour-long trip to go to Illinois where most of my family lives to see my new baby cousin and celebrate The Fourth of July. I hope on the way there (or the way back) we can stop in Kentucky to see my, uh, third cousin twice removed on my papa's side. Last year we stopped there on the way back to Georgia and went to a waterpark and spent the night at a hotel with her. So, we were visiting her, but she stayed with us. It was cool. And, of course, I got a sunburn. I'm sure that I don't have an ounce of mellanin in my skin.

@Brynne: Happy Belated Birthday Brynne! *Gives a cupcake* So, you're 15 now, right?

@Admin: Thanks for reminding me to wear sunscreen:). I always do, though, but I always get a sunburn. Like this past Friday we went to a friend's grandparents' pool and I got two coats of sunscreen but I got a very painful sunburn that hurts a lot at night and I get all twitchy because it feels like somethings burning me over and over. But we figured out the reason; when I got out to eat lunch, we never put any back on before I went back into the pool.

I went to the author's program today! It was fun and the teacher is really sweet and funny. She calls all of us "love". We played this game where we wrote down on one piece of paper an occupation and on another, an object and we had to persuade one another to buy this object and tell them why it would be good for their job. I had written down as an occupation "cosmetologist" and the object as "broomstick". Everyone had sold their object, but I think everybody was being nice because one girl was trying ot sell a zombie to a gymnast. It was crazy.

The class sounds like fun! Yes, you need to reapply sunscreen after being in the water or two hours. And you could try getting a higher SPF. Or put a light cotton long-sleeved shirt on when you get out of the water.

For an early birthday present, (my birthday is August 26), my grandma is taking me on an Intergenerational Exploritas trip to Paris. I leave on the 17th of July, and stay there for 9 days. Since it's Exploritas, there are going to be other kids my age there in our group who are going with their grandma/pa. I'm wicked excited for it, and I've even made my own calendar counting off the days till I'm on the airplane. Has anyone else ever been to Paris?

Also, at the end of August, I'm going to a cabin for a week on some island somewhere. xD My family didn't give me many details about it, except for the fact that there's a hot tub. :D
