Chatterbox: Down to Earth

It's around my

It's around my dog's birthday!

His name is Cassidy, but we call him Cassie.  His middle name is Rue.  Cassie Rue.  Rue because he just barks at strangers.

His birthday is sometime in June, I don't know exactly what day, but somtime in June.  8gasp*  It's June!  Cassie is sixteen!  Yay!  So in dog years he is 132.  Wow.  He's old.  Last night he peed on the floor without noticing.  He's slightly deaf...  It's actually good that he's deaf, all the yelling and screaming that goes on in this house.

I'm making this thread for Cassie.  Who seems to be a little older than me.  A lot.  He is my dad's first dog ever.

I couldn't imagine a life without dogs or cats.

Oh wow! 16 years is pretty good!!  My neighbor's dog is 15, and he is deaf too.  He is getting so old he falls over when walking now. :(  FrEaKy!!  My dog's name is Cassidy too!!!!!  We call her Chubby dog though. (She's just a little overweight) ((more than a little))  (((We also call her Chubs)))

Funny, one of my dog's nicknames are 'Chubby Puppy', even though he's not a puppy.  There are many pets named Cassidy.  My dog, your dog, someone else on Cb's dog, my friends cat...

My family thinks he has some german sheperd in him...  But he's a mixed breed.  A lot of different kinds of dogs.  Medium sized and furry.  As old as Cassie is, his hair is very very thick.  If you brush his legs then you'll get very large hairballs.  And his hair is under half an inch long on his legs.

Wow! That's old! My parish priest had a chihuahua that (1) was blind, (2) was deaf, (3) was asthmatic, (4) had arthritis, and (5) hopped around, because it could barely walk. "Was" because it died.

Congratulations! My dog, Sheena, a German Shepherd mix (we think she has some Husky and Lab in her), is only 6. We hope she'll live for a long time more, of course, although 16 is very unlikely for such a large dog...
