Today, is the first offical day of Summer!!!! :D What are some things that everybuggy loves to do on a hot, summer day? I love sitting outside with a really good book, and I also love jumping into a nice, cool swimming pool. :)

Well, to be honest, I prefer it when it isn't 100 degrees outside, so you won't catch me reading outside (although of course I do it indoors—how could I not read?), but I do love swimming. And kayaking. I learned kayaking today. It was fun. Oh, and I like sitting outside in the dead of night staring at the moon (or a tree, or any object to keep my eyes busy while my thoughts are miles away—unlike most people, I think better when my eyes are focused on one object than when I'm staring into space—but at night there aren't many of those, so it's generally the moon, when it's out), listening to cicadas, and thinking about whatever is on my mind, which is now generally my JulNo, even though I've made a vow not to consciously start plotting until Wednesday. And I like celebrating my birthday, which is in July. But I'm mainly looking forward to writing my JulNo.

Ha, ha, ha, I don't love when it's boiling hot outside, but I personally like hot weather more than cold weather. You're able to do more things in hot weather, (swimming, picnics, biking, hiking, etc.). :) Yeah, kayaking is so much fun! I've done it twice, in FL, and I love it! Have fun with JulNo, I'll have to look into it! I thought there was only NaNo. :) When is your birthday? *<:)

I absolutely love summer! But I don't love the kind of weather that can fry eggs on the sidewalk (BTW, my sister and I tried to see if there was any truth to that yesterday, and the egg just sort of hardened...) I've never been kayaking, but I've gone parasailing (amazing) and white-water rafting on the Rio Grande (scary fun!)  I'll look into JulNo

Wow, it must have been really hot outside! :D I've always wanted to go parasailing or white-water rafting! They sound so awesome! :)

Yeah, I think we all prefer it when it's not really hot outside.

During the summer I mostly play video games or read. But I stay inside as much as possible because I don't like it outside unless it's raining, cloudy or nighttime. I do not like sun. But I'm not a vampire! I just hate sun. Also, every summer I participate in the swim team which is really fun because my best friend's on it too. And every 4th of July I go down to my friend's dad's parent's house...i think?

@ Kimberly: My birthday is July 16th, so it's soon. (Has anyone else noticed that many of us seem to have our birthdays around summer)? And yeah, until recently, I only knew about NaNo, too, which I can't do what with school and homework and everything. But there's actually something for just about every month of the year.

@ Ima: Cool, happy almost birthday! *<:) Have anything fun planned? I tried to do NaNo a couple of years ago, and got pretty far, but I was really busy and November quickly flew by :)

Thanks! And no, I'm not entirely sure what I plan to do yet. And yeah, I'm always busy in November, too. That's why I'm doing JulNo instead. I don't do much in the summer.

Well I hope the day is full of birthday fun! ;) I'll have to try JulNo! If not this year, next year......if I join, I'll let everybuggy know so I can find who else is doing it! :)

What I like to do when it is really hot is to get a spray bottle, fill it with water, and spritz my arms and face and neck and legs. It evaporates off you and cools you down!

No.  No it's not the first day of summer.  Everybody has it all wrong.  It'll be summer in a couple months... we moved our clocks too far ahead.  IT'S RAINING!  ON THE 2ND OF JULY.  I HATE IT SO MUCH.  Last year we had our pool set up by now.  This year, WE'RE STUCK INSIDE.  UGHUGHUGH!  Whoever else lives in WA: Is it raining there??

Of course it's summer! Summer starts in early May and doesn't leave until October! Our clocks are just off, not fast! How could it not be summer yet?

It is raining, though, here, too. It just happens to be very hot as it rains...
