YAY!

I used to play soccer (last year) but I decided I need to try something new.  I am now doing cross-country conditioning for our high school.  I made a thread about this a while ago saying I wasn't sure I wanted to do it, but now I am so sure I want to.  It is SOOOO fun.  All the people are SUPER nice and every day after our run, we play games (we even had a water balloon fight with everyone bringing in huge coolers full of balloons).  The running part is okay (haha I tell my mom that I like everything besides the running, which is kinda the point of cross-country.) hee hee.  I mean, I'm not quite in shape yet, so it might get better.  And now that my cousins are here, I haven't run in a week and it feels TERRIBLE.  My problem is I am NOT fast at all, not just in cross-country, but running period.  I'm not fast.  So I might have the stamina, I don't have the speed.  But, I do really enjoy it and hopefully I'll get better as the season comes and goes.  :D

I used to figure-skate, Kit Kat!  I quit around fourth grade when I started piano and my parents gave me the choice: violin and piano or violin and ice skating.  Well, you know what I chose.  I like soccer as a sport though I don't play it on a team or anything.  I just enjoy playing it.  I also cross-country ski every winter (we go somewhere with snow, as I live in Southern California).  I love to hike as well, Admin!  Especially places that are very beautiful - it's so rewarding!  Something I started recently is badminton.  My mom introduced it to me when I was little and I just got a great racquet and took classes this year.  I kinda want to continue, because it's a fun sport and I really need to build up my arm muscles. :)

@Cherry and Ima:  I went to my mom's yoga class with her last week and really liked it!  I'll probably ask to go again next week.  It was more of a workout than I'd expected.

I've never really been into sports.  I dabbled in dance, soccer, and figure-skating when younger, but never really got hooked on anything.  I've done Show Choir with my school for two years, and since dancing is a sport, I suppose you could count that...I also like Double Dutch, and a few years ago formed a team with my friends.  We stopped after a bit because our friendships didn't last, but I still enjoy Double Dutching in PE and with my cousins.  And yes, Double Dutch is a sport with its own league - look it up!

Well summer practices for basketball are over, and so is golf, so I currently don't have much to do.  :(   I hate being bored!  :P  I do leave for camp tomorrow though.  ((Sorry but I won't be posting. :)  ))

Ooh. I like to play basketball (I play with the kids at my church since there's a basketball net) and swim too! I also like badminton, volleyball, and track and field (mostly the field part). I made my school's track and field team in grade 5. I'm hoping to make it for grade 6 too. I also did horseback riding (Western) for a camp. I actually rode on a horse with no lead rope on three days only. But it was really fun and not as hard as I had expected. :-)

K. Finished reading all the comments.

Clair: Dancing is totally a sport. (I do jazz, tap, and ballet, but I didn't do tap last year) I want to try lyrical and hip hop, but I have a bunch of other stuff (and my brother does too) so it might cost too much money. Oh well. I'm hoping to do competitive in a year or two.

Admin who replied to Julia's first comment: That stinks that your two fav teams didn't win. I was cheering for Italy, which is apparently full of old people according to half the soccer crazy, Spanish and/or Brazil-rooting guys. But I'm glad Spain won because I'm part Spanish (apparently) and Spanish people are just cool like that. :-P

MCB: I love to do endurance swimming. I get a great (and tired) feeling afterwards. But for me, doing back crawl for any sort of swimming event is a big no no. I just feel very insecure doing it. I prefer breastroke and front crawl. Oh, and congrats!

Laterz!

P.S. I also forgot to post that I do Tae Kwon Doe (sadly). I have to consider it a sport, but I honestly hate it. (actually, just the free sparring, tournament style is okay) I'm a green belt. Yay. /sarcasm. I take classes on Mondays (with the coolest teacher ever whose classes are a mixture of cardio and sparring), Wednesdays (with a teacher who likes to make jokes about guys liking girls and stuff), and sometimes Fridays (with the same Wednesday teacher usually). The Wednesday and Friday classes are just pretty much sparring the whole time. And that's not fun because my classes are one hour.

 Okay, I'm done. :-)
