30-hour famine! Who

30-hour famine! Who has heard of this? I am thinking of organizing an event of this...buuuut it seems like a lot of work and stuff (I don't know, maybe I'm just being lazy). But I guess no pain no gain. Anywho, has anyone been to one of these before? If you have, what was it like? (I kinda need some ideas here...and I just want to hear what you thought of it.) Was it worth fasting for thirty hours?

There was a thread about this last year............................. I REALLY want to do this!! Plus, it would help during Lent season, but thats off topic. Anywho............... If you do organize this, I'd try to do it to!!!!!!!!!

What is it, exactly? You fast for thirty hours, but for what purpose? Is it like a 5k race, where you get a bunch of people to donate/sponsor and the money goes to charity or is it a symbolic thing? Why 30 hours? -Curious Admin

I did this with my youth group. It was really awesome -- and we raised a lot of money, too. @Curious Admin: People (kids mostly -- a lot of church youth groups and stuff do it) go without food for thirty hours (duh) and get people to donate to help world hunger. Every thirty dollars helps to feed a hungry kid for a whole month, and I think that's the significance of the thirty hours -- they try to get people to give a dollar an hour. You can google it for their website. Hope that helps.
