Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Does anyone else

Does anyone else live in Santa Rosa?  Or at least Sonoma County?  I want to talk about how nothing ever happens here, but I still love it!  I went trick-or-treating in the McDonald Mansion neighborhood this year!  It was sooo cool!  And lots of famous people have lived in Santa Rosa!  Hey, there's even that guy on the cooking channel who's really famous and lives here, but we're still never mentioned!!!!!!!  AAAHHH!!!!!!!!!  Not fair!

*Grumbles*  I you think Santa Rosa is never mentioned, what about the whole of Canada, which is right atop the US??

"Land of moose."  Heh.

HA!  You're funny.  And you've got to be kidding; we hear about Canada AAAALL the time down here!!!!  Plus, think about it, Anne of Green Gables was set there, and that is a HUGELY famous book!  We actually considered moving there once (ha-ha) at a certain time because of a certain election which shall go unnamed!

Oh, and don't worry, I've never heard of the phrase "Land of Moose" before.  And no, I'm not that well informed, but still, I'm informed enough to hear stuff like that!

You think that Santa Rose is never mentioned?!??!?!?!  Tell me, until you came to this site, have you ever heard of Gorham?!?!? We have a few famous people.  Ummm...  Let me see.....  I'll copy something from Wiki.

  • James Phinney Baxter, historian & civic leader
  • Percival Baxter, governor
  • Frederick Robie, governor
  • Bob Crowley, winner of Survivor: Gabon
  • Edwin Hall, physicist
  • Stephen Longfellow, congressman
  • James Mann, politician
  • Ellen G. White, religious leader

  • Julie Berry, contestant on Survivor" Vanuatu
  • Okay, I know these people aren't really that famous nationwide, but still, most of the US knows Bob Crowley!!!  Sadly, on the show, they never mentioned Gorham.  Only Portland...  I actually know Mr. Crowley and Kevin Hawkes.  NOTHING happens in Gorham!!! :(

OK, I haven't even heard of most of these, but they're on Wiki, so they must be at least a little famous!

Well, I hate that some people make fun of Minnesota. They're making fun of us on TV shows! I was once randomly watching Hannah Montana 'cause I was bored and there was nothing else to do, and they were making fun of Minnesota! There was some kid who was like making butter and stuff, and was made fun of! I never wanted to watch that show again. We do make corn and stuff, and there are farms, but hey! We enjoy making food for ourselves. (I don't live on a farm though.) And we would rather have fresh food; it's better then other food. I can't believe people would try to make fun of Minnesota! They are so mean.

My sisters watch Hannah Montana at our grandma's house.  I just do NOT like it at all.  I am not a big TV person.  I normaly go to the back of the room and pet one of her cat's while I'm reading a book.  Or when it's warm out ask grandma if I can go outside. (She's a real safety person).

I just looked up Gorham, and it's beautiful!!  I have an uncle, wait no, cousin who lives in Maine; maybe he talked about it...  He used to live near Portland, but then he moved to somewhere near London, and now he lives somewhere in Maine again.  I think he teaches special ed.

Oh, and ABBA wrote a song called "Santa Rosa"!!  Pretty cool!  Of course, there are like a MILLION things and places called Santa Rosa in the world, but still, it's cool!!!!!

Survivor is a show where, ummm, twenty-something people from around the US go to a country (Bob went to Gabon, Africa) and play games (physical & quizes). The people are on two teams and play against each other. Every day, the losing team has to go to the "tribal counsel" and vote one person off their team. It's and awful show, because people are talking behind other's backs and being evil to each other (Corrinne....), but I watched it, just because of Bob. You sort of have to see it to understand. He ended up winning the whole thing, so we're happy! :D:D:D

I'm from Minnesota. I hate how people sometimes make fun of Minnesota. It's not funny and a terrible thing to do! Minnesota's pretty cool. We have the Mall of America, we have plants, horses, and cold winters that are very cold!

You said that twice!!! Don't worry, I've never made fun of Minnesota!!!!!!!!! I hate how tons of people back east always think that Californians are tan, and talk like surfers, and wear bikinis!!!!!!!! I've never gone surfing, and I don't plan to. I can't even swim!!!!!!!!!!!! No really, if people are going to say that about Californians, they should at least know, there are a lot more people like that down where the water is actually WARM!!!!!!!! In SoCal!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I live in NorCal) The funny thing was, when my cousin visited this summer from Indiana, she had more of a tan than any of us!!!!!!!!! And she wore board shorts and a bikini!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
