Cross Country!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Cross Country!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cross Country!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone on here besides me run it????????? Our season just ended and at our meets I got 3rd, 4th ( I got sick) 12th, (I got even sicker) and 3rd. I was going to run another meet, but I've decided not to because I am already out of shape. So anyone else one of the few runners??? We hosted a meet yesterday. They didn't have a junior high division, so I was just a supporter. My brothers and my sister did great considering the competition. In the girls my sister Sam (fakename) got 29th. They only medaled to 25. There were 92 girls!!!!! In the boys my brothers placed 2nd, 14th, and somewhere in the 60s. There were a lot of boys, too. I have 2 other brothers, but they're both injured but will run this week so we'll have a team + 1 for districts. I consider all of the runners my siblings, because there aren't that many where I live. I'm also friends with one of my XC brother's sister, so he was pretty much my brother anyway.  Football and Volleyball are really big here, and most don't consider XC a real sport. (This makes me want to EXPLODE.)

Anyone can run 100 meters. It's the other 4,900 that matter.

Go Bees!!!

Oh, my friend made me do Cross Country this year for school. We haven't had any meets yet though. (I'm a sub, by three seconds.) I'm doing it again, despite how much I'm bad at it, for the exercise. ;-) Our first meet is 3k. That's 3000m. I can't believe you have to do 4600. But I take it that you go to a junior high and that I go to a school K- grade 8. :-) (and as a track and field person, anyone can run 100m, but not very fast, proving that the 100m is very important) :-P

Oh, we don't have to do 5000m. That's what the back of our shirts say, because the high school boys designed the shirts. The junior high distance is measured in miles and we run 1 to 1 and a half  miles for a meet. So about 1600 meters. Here, the high school girls run 4000 meters.

Our shirts say Anyone can run 4900 meters, it's the other 4900 meters that matter becuase it's kinda making fun of the people who sprint the first 100.

1600m? Oh, and when I said I'm going to do Cross Country again, I meant next year. (I am aiming to get under 8 minutes for the 1500m this year, which is pitiful, I know. One of the grade 4s at my school got 6:32 for XC tryouts; hers were equal to the 1500m.) Are you one of those crazy (in a good way) that can sprint the entire 1600m?

Ha, I have to run 5ks.  3.2 miles I believe.  I am so horribly awful at it, and at my first meet (which was just about a week ago) I only had ten people behind me.  But, my goal was not to get last and IT WAS ACCOMPLISHED!!  :)  And anyway, I had to run with VARSITY (mostly made up of seniors who run for HOURS everyday), which our team is mostly MADE OF!!  So... yeah.  I am always a nervous wreck, so I hate the meets.  (That's why I've only gone to 1... I skipped the first 4:S)  Competition is NOT my thing.  But that's the good thing about XC, it's all about personal development.  You don't have to run in the meets... I'm just doing it to get in shape, like Olive.  :D

That's cool that you run!   We both play basketball and swim, but running sounds like fun! :)

I run cross-country!!! :) It's awesome, and I tell everyone that "Cross-country is my life!" :) The season's ending soon for us, so it's very sad. :( I do pretty well for my courses, my fastest time for 1.5 was 12:07, in an invitational. There were 128 people, and I came in 69th! :D

Right now, xc is my life! :)  I have it every day.  I barely have time to get anything done.  But... SQUEE!  I just had my 2nd meet and I ran 2 miles in 15:30!!!  There were a lot of people behind me.  It felt SOOOOOO amazing!  :D  We mostly run 5ks, though, so I don't know why this one was 2 miles.

All right, tomorrow is a big meet.  League.  Supposed to be like 15 teams there!  Agh!!  It'll be HUGE!!  It's a 5k course with 2 large hills.  Great.  I will inform you all on how it goes. :D

R~D~: Good luck!

Today we just had a meet (my first ever) and I was supposed to be in the U12 division with my friend, but you have to have four people to qualify and only my friend and I were supposed to be in the U12, so we had to go to the U13 instead. It was a lap extra, but the training prepared me for that. But I got 28 out of 42 people (I thought it was out of 100, but then someone burst my bubble and said it was in the 40s). I thought I was last, but I wasn't. *cheers* If I get to go to the next meet, I'm actually going to be competitive and try to pass people. But the next meet is supposed to be harder, so everyone's praying that it rains so the route will be shorter. :-P

I just got back.  I think it went really well.  I beat my last 5k (3.1 miles) time by about 4 minutes!! I don't know my official time yet, or what place or anything.  I was so focused, I don't know any of that.  I kinda know my time because there was a big timer at the end. I'll figure it all out when they post it online.  Anyway, it was SUCH a fun day. Thanks, you guys!

Oh and good job, Olive!  *cheers like crazy*

Thanks, and congratsi R~D~! (there was another meet on Friday, but it went horribly so I'll spare he detail of my placing) The friday meet was 2.3 k I think. *shrug* Anyways, there were 21 schools, and I think 6 people in each team. So each school had to put one person behind the other, (for example, school A, person 1, besides is school B, person 1, and blah blah blah) and I got a horrible start because I was second last in the line, and was to scared of getting trampled, so I was pretty much jogging when I could have been sprinting (and I saw someone lying down in the parking lot, where we started, and someone trip over that person) all in all, the meet was horrible, but the trail was nice. All woody and had a fall-Narnia type of feel. My school placed 3rd. ;-)

Awesome, you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to say, I am very jealous, because my season ended a couple of weeks ago! But anyway, at state, one of my brothers got fourth, and the other one got eleventh with a personal best. Good luck at your next meet!
