Well, I'd say cats, especially since I'm not such a huge fan of my dog. Okay, she's great, she's adorable, she's a good protector, she's just a great dog, but she SMELLS. To no end. I hate wet dog smell, and I hate dogs that just tend to stink. (well at least my dog!) I used to have a cat but we kinda traumatized her so she didn't want to come near us (we were little and liked to chase her...) okay, sorry about my life story here. :) We've had pretty interesting experiences with pets. But I think I like cats better.

Dogs all the way! I love cats, too, but dogs are my absolute favorite, especially Border collies, Labradors, schipperkes, beagles, Welsh springer spaniels, and mutts. I wanted a dog ever since I was three, but had to wait until I was eight to get one...:( It's been almost five years, and Angel's still here!

Well, I've had 4 cats in my life and *counts in head* I think 7 dogs and I've loved all of them, but I have to say dogs. They tend to be more social, you can teach them tricks (I'm sure you can teach a cat tricks too, I just haven't tried it ;)) and they seem to be more protective. :) All in all though, I love pretty much all house pets I can think of! :)

@ R~D--I was laughing hysterically while reading your post. Especially the part about chasing the cat. Sounds like something my little siblings would do.

I absolutely love both. I would never be able to decide if I like cats or dogs more. I've always lived with cats and dogs, and loved all of them. :) I especially love big dogs. Shadow, a great dane, has recently been adopted by my family. She just licked my face. :) Liger, one of my cats, is a lovey kitty who talks a lot. Dawn, my other cat, is kind of punk-ish. xD She can be lovey at times, but she usually just likes to play and (friendly) scratch and bite. And there's Quinn, who we call Winnie quite often. He loves getting petted. :) And PJ, who has three legs. Her former owner broke her leg, but my family helped her. She's going to be 13 in May! :)
