Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Sewing------

Sewing

------- (those are stitches)

I have been on a sewing streak lately. The most recent things I've sewn are matching T-shirt dresses for my three little sisters, ages 6, 2, and 9 months (today!). T-shirt dresses are fairly easy, you take a T-shirt and sew a skirt to it in the fabric you want. I used circle skirts, so the dresses would twirl. I think they are my new favorite thing to sew. :)

Does anyone else like to sew at all? What do you sew? Other things I've sewed are ruffle skirts, a doll apron, fleece pillowcases and a stuffed robot for my brother's Christmas present. Mostly easy-ish stuff.

And does anyone like making hair bows?

When I was in Casa/JK/whatever it's called, I sewed buttons onto small pieces of cloth. :P

Last year, 2010, I did a sewing camp with two of my friends. I sewed two small pillows and a stuffed ladybug. After that, I also sewed a small pouch for my mum's birthday. I might rent a book during the summer and learn some more sewing. :)

I did an F&CS class at my school for a quarter and I made a duffel bag. I liked it so much that I want to get a sewing machine of my own, so I am saving up!

i have taken some classes and have made some things at home. I have made a dress, a skirt, a bag, and a windsock. My mother and sister sew. My mother has made several of the dresses I have. I would love to be really good someday and be able to make almost anything.

I don't sew, but someday, I'd love to learn how to knit and possibly embroider.

I don't sew as much as I used to. I used to handsew pillows.  Now I don't really do much.  I'd rather design them :P

Right now I'm working on a summer skirt. Unfortunately, it keeps getting put on the back burner. :/

Those t-shirt dresses sound adorable.  My friend makes something like that--she takes tank tops and makes a ruffley skirt on the bottom, so they're fitted and then twirl out.  I myself, don't sew.

We have a sewing machine but I don't sew much a) because I'm not that good. b) If the machine get's broken which it often does I'm no good at fixing it. c) because I don't have time!
