Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Oh and PS

Oh and PS - if you post on my RR (on the Inkwell, still on the first page) in the next 24 hours, I'll give you a ten percent discount from my clothing boutique when we grow up.  ;)

When you grow up, what do you want to be?

I want to be a clothing designer, but that's beside the point, and not very likely to happen... like as not  I'll just while away my days as an old, dour Greek scholar/professor.  Which is something I'd rather avoid.  But anyway, what's your preferred future occupation?

(Spammy says tonu.  Tonu?  Spammy, will you just be intelligible for once? *said in tones of exasperation*)

PS?

I want to be an ethologist, someone who studies how wild animals behave in their natural enviornment. I'd like to specialize in a specific animal, but I don't yet know what. I'd prefer it to be something very rare, though, so that I might have a chance of finding some information that could help it survive. I'd also want it to live in a cold climate, because I want to live in a cold climate.

Believe me, if you don't want to be a professor of Greek, you won't be. You'd need a lot of degrees in things you're apparently not interested in.

Naked mole rats!!!

Oh right, cold climate.  Arctic terns!!!  Leopard seals!!!

Greek is OK in moderation, but it's really complex.  They carefully thought through each sentence before they wrote it down.  Comparing Greek to English is like the equivalent of comparing Pride and Prejudice to Percy Jackson.   One sentence is an onion to peel.  If I had to be a scholar, I'd rather be a Latin scholar.  Oh well.  I still prefer sewing.  Oh, and if the person who posted on my thread doesn't want to identify him/herself, he/she won't get that discount!!!!

Those are awesome animals, although it doesn't have to be quite that cold. I've plenty of time to decide, though. I'll see.

Wolves.  You can come visit me in the cold (kind of) Northeast. :)

We'll see! I do love all the animals you mentioned, and they're really fascinating, so they're possibilities. If I still post here when I'm going to college and making potentially-permanent-though-I-could-technically-change-my-mind-if-I-really-wanted-to decisions, I'll be sure to tell you what happens. :)

By the way, I think the Bermuda Triangle is a place in the ocean--possibly the Caribbean--where ships keep getting lost for no apparent reason.

Yes, that's right, Ima, but it's in the Atlantic Ocean, bounded by Bermuda, Puerto Rica, and a point near Melbourne, Florida.

Good luck then!

(I see.  Thanks, both of you.)

Also, it doesn't really seem likely that I'd get to do that because so many of the people who want to do something along those lines when they grow up generally don't, but I have A) wanted to do it more than anything in the world I can think of ever since I was 8 years old, B) extreme determination, perseverence and stubbornness, C) an obsession with biology from when I was 8 years old, and a love of science and animals for as long as I can remember, and D) enough intelligence, so I think I could make it work.

 Found your thread, Oregano!

Hmm... I currently want to be some important executive person in some important business in either New York or California. I have good enough grades... Does that sounds stuck-up? Sorry if it does.

With a more realistic look on life, I might want to become a teacher or librarian. Or someone who works with technology, like my mom. :)

Well, I want to be a marine biologist who works with dolphins... but I doubt that will happen since I very much dislike science and I would have to know a *bit* about biology to become that. :)  I also want to be a famous author... so, we'll see. :D

Something that has to do with theater and cosmetology/hairdressing. I'd also love to be a stay-at-home homeschooling mom, but do hair for weddings and start/be involved in a local children's theater company. It would also be fun to be a professional actress (in theater, probably not film), briefly, but I don't think I'm quite up to that level of talent.

Hmmm. What I want to be...? Gosh, I love writing and reading, so maybe something in that area. I like science, but all the terms get jumbled up in my head. Math I love, but same with science, the formulas mix together. History I adore, so definitly something in Ancient Civilizations, such as a historian or an archaelogist. I've wanted to travel since forever, so maybe a travel blogger picking up odd jobs along the way to earn money. Or a travel agent, but that doesn't travel much. A Greek tour guide? Hmmm. There're really a lot of opportunities, and I don't really know which one to take right now.

I've always wanted to be a physical therapist, but of course if my profesional swimmer career works out I'll be retired by the time I'm 35. (Not to be stuck up and of course that won't happen but it's nice to dream...)

Oh, wow, I dunno. The ultimate goal, of course, is to be a writer, but I know I'd have to do something else as well. I think I'd be a good librarian, or an editor.

I have NO idea how my postscript got to the top of the post...

No wonder I couldn't find it anywhere.  Sorry, Admin.
