Exercise. How do
Chatterbox: Down to Earth
Exercise. How do
Exercise. How do you get your daily exercise? I've (happily) started cross-country summer training (and I ran 45 minutes today! :D) which is definitely alot of exercise! We run, stretch, do ab workouts and lift weights. When I wasn't involved in training though, I would run around neighborhoods, bike ride, go to a local gym, etc. So, what do you do?
Swim laps, cut the grass, walk.

Sometimes I get it when I go on a cleaning spree, that can give you a lot of exercise. I have been trying to get my siblings to play tennis with me and in the fall I will start doing tennis lessons again. Outside I usually play with my dog and do cartwheels and handstands and things like that. And when I get enough people I play volleyball and I play basketball with my friend. And then I have this series of exercises that I do. And that is about it.

TOP!!

I have started horseback riding and I write, dance, hike and walk and ride my bike to school every day. I found out that I can't do push ups (If you ever saw me do them, you'd crack up), so I need better stomach and arm muscles. We have a tennis place near us so I may start lessons! It sounds fun. I also want to jog with my friend because I am a... Bad? runner. :)
@Robyn D.- You mean cross-country running, right? Do you have to run fast?
(July 3, 2011 - 8:01 am)
Horseback riding sounds so fun! Yup, that's what I mean. No, you don't have to run full-speed like you're sprinting, because we typically run 3 miles for races and you couldn't sprint that whole thing. You really have to pace yourself. It's fun... well, the running isn't that fun, but everything else about cross-country is! :D

@Elizabeth M.
You're not alone...I can't do pushups either but my little sister Mimi can do clap pushups and laughs in my face when I try. She's the sporty sister but I'm the indoor read, write and dance. As for excercise I dance and swim. I also read and write which is excercise for the brain right? Next week I have camp though and I'll be hiking, swimming, archery(ing?), running, volleyball playing, doing soccer and basketball plus tons of other sports...its a Catholic all girls camp.

@Robyn D.--I just started! It's major fun! Cross-country sounds a bit like something I may try.
@Christina M.--HAHA! I'm not alone. I'm like you. Writing is also exercise for the fingers! :)

I can only do about ten push-ups and even that is really hard. I am hoping by the end of the summer it might be twenty or thirty. (I highly doubt that will happen.) But my handstands are getting better so maybe it will happen.
@Christina M.: I went t a camp like that for three years. It was also a Catholic all girls camp. Unfortunately my last year was last year. What state is the camp in?
(July 3, 2011 - 3:10 pm)
@Lizzy
It is in California. It's for Catholic girls grade 5th to 9th. Then 10th graders are the counselors...it's sooo fun. This year the theme is WonderLands and I got AdventureLand cabin...YAY!

At the moment, I'm practicing "girl push-ups". I also need to learn how to cartwheel... Who can do those?
(July 4, 2011 - 10:41 am)
@Elizabeth: I can only do girl push ups (or knee push ups) and I'm terrible at them. Last year, towards the end of cross-country, I was able to do about sixty of them... now I can barely do five. But I just can't do regular ones. Hard! Gosh, I can't do a cartwheel either. Not that I really try. If I did try, I could probably do one.... Are you flexible? I'm NOT... AT ALL!
(July 5, 2011 - 10:56 am)
I can do a cartwheel. I actually started practicing when I was about seven so I got pretty good. I can also do a one-handed one, but I can't do a somersault. I find that very disappointing.

@ R~D~
You're just like me! I can't do a push-up or cartwheel (I've been trying since I was 5) and I'm not flexible.
I get my exercise in by dancing (which I've been doing a lot of lately b/c of my drama camp) and playing outside. And I exercise my brain by reading.:)
(July 5, 2011 - 6:15 pm)
@Robyn D.- Sixty?! I got tired at twenty yesterday (though, I am making progress)! I'm flexible in some ways, but in others not so much. It really depends on what I'm doing...
