My. Teeth. Hurt.

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

My. Teeth. Hurt.

My. Teeth. Hurt.

So I've had braces for about *counts* 19 months and you think I'd be used to the pain but... I am. But it still hurts.

So right now, I'm wearing my braces with those rubber elastic things and they hurt. A lot. (I think I think I should take one of the pain-relieving pill later.) And the only way to make the pain stop is to either take a pill, which I will do later, or press my upper teeth against my lower teeth.

So does anyone here have braces? I know a few of you do. How long have you had them? When are you getting them off? (Sometime in October for me if all goes well) If you don't have braces, are you getting them? (If not, then you're a lucky duck.) When are you getting them?

Off to NaNo! (and get a pill)

I got braces in 2nd grade and had them taken off in 3rd; then I got them again in 6th grade. A few months ago, I had to start using the elastic rubber band things, but apparently I was doing such an excellent job at keeping them in my mouth (which isn't really all that hard, but apparently most people disobey) that he let me take them off really early, after just a month or 2. I will have to use them again at some point, but better later than sooner. I think I'll get my braces off next school year.

I have had my braces for about a year and 3 months??? I don't really keep track because they don't hurt me at all!

Well I don't now, but I can sympathize since I did have them for two years. I did take some of those pills when it got really bad, but it never seemed to do anything. Those rubber bands make it hurt really bad because they are moving your entire jaw. After a month or two of wearing the rubber bands you don't really notice them at all.

@Lizzy: I took two of those chewable pills today (I was suppose to take three though, because of my age, but we only had two left.) and it only worked for an hour-ish. Yesterday I took an adult pill, which worked for a few hours... and I just got my wires tightened yesterday I think, so the elastics kill.

I don't have braces but I can sympathize because half the girls in my class have them. Technically, I probably would have to get them, too, because of a small gap in my upper two teeth and the bottom four aren't straight (that will get better, I just have to lose more teeth). This is off topic but how many teeth have you lost? I have lost *counts* ten, I think.

@Elizabeth M.: I've lost all my baby teeth (I don't know how many though) and have had two adult teeth pulled out.

I feel really...*searches for adjective*... Lame, saying that. I mean! I'm supposed to have all my canines out by now and they won't budge!

I have lost all of my teeth. And apparently I may have to get my wisdom teeth pulled this summer. I can actually already kind of see them.

I've lost all my teeth, and one of my twelve-year molars has mostly come in.

I feel even lamer now.

I'm getting a molar, too, by the way!

At first I thought braces would make me look cooler and older, but I like myself wayyyy better without them on :) (I got them off a year ago).  Don't worry- all the pain will DEFINITELY be worth it!

I've lost about 15+ teeth already.
@Elizabeth M., good for you! I got my top two molars in last month and can feel the bottom two coming in. I don't need braces but since I bite my nails it gave my an overbite and might need a retainer or Invisalign.
