Any other CBers live in areas that have been hit?
We got hit mediumlyish. The power went out for about 3 days-I missed my CBing buddies! :') (Bittersweet smiley)
Ooooh, I'm glad you're all right now and have power again, WW! I'm in the sunny midwest, but we have friends on the NC coast who rode out the storm at home. Their house is set high, about a block from the ocean. They just lost a few roof shingles.

Yeah! I was sooooooo freaked out! In fact, Analesia and I were in a place for vacation and our flight back was canceled so our parents got a rentel car and we driove back while the hurricane was in our state! We just got home yesterday and that's why we weren't posting. So, we are alive!

No. I live in Ontario which wasn't in the hurricane/tropical storm's range. But I'm glad you're safe! You too, Blue Fairy! :)

My cousin was in a coffee shop in Virginia during the earthquake and glass started breaking.

I left Wild Dunes (Charleston, SC) Wednesday before the hurricane hit. Have you heard about tropical storm Katie?

Katia!!!!!!! I have my reasons for knowing that name if somebody woke me up in the middle of the night, pointed a gun into my face, and asked me about it!!

I think we just got hit by Katia yesterday......it thundered so hard when we were eating lunch, everyone in the cafeteria screamed.....

Katia is a hurricane, and now Nate and Maria are both tropical storms expected to turn into hurricanes, plus Irene just blew through so recently, it's crazy! My friend Lea, who believes in 2012, says that "The storms starting now, are like a warm up for the catastrophe of 2012." (Most of the class thinks she's crazy, but who knows, it might be true.) (I don't believe it yet though.)
My math teacher's sister has a shop in one of the little NY towns that got flooded; her sister is ok but the shop was completely destroyed. So sad, all these bad things happening. (Plus the 10th anniversary of 9/11 is on Sunday...)

We flew out of New England the day before Irene hit. It must have been really scary. Most of the people in my Grandparents' area lost power.
