Bananas

There has been talk about how if you eat a banana right before your performance it helps calm the nerves. Well, I've been thinking about that and I was wondering if that also works with tests or if anyone has tried that out. Admin?

Unfortunately, this Admin doesn't like bananas! But my secret for taking standardized tests is to bring a Snickers bar and eat it on the break. It's my good luck charm!

YES! CHOCOLATE STIMULATES THE BRAIN! NOW I JUST HAVE TO CONVINCE MY MOM OF THAT!

...yeah. I love chocolate. Especially dark chocolate. Or milk chocolate with hazelnuts..

Anyways, I haven't tried to eat a banana before class because we're not allowed to eat before class unless it's the class after lunch... but I ate a banana for one of my performances and it helped a bit. :)

I really don't get nervous before standardized tests.... In fact, sometimes I"ll do really terrible on a practice test but when it's the real thing I do well.

Okay, I might try chocolate though I'm sensitive to sugar and then I'll start thinking about my stomach instead of the paper in front of me... Anyway, HAZELNUT CHOCOLATE ROCKS!

I've never done that, but next time I'm in a play I shall eat a banana.  I get nervous quite a lot.  Once I was a maid in Peter Pan, and I even stumbled on my lines.  I felt horrible afterward, and even more nervous.  xD

And on the 19th I made banana cake, for my sister Luna's birthday.  On that day I discovered that it was also Hermione Granger's birthday, which I thought was absolutely amazingful.  And then I found out that it was another CBers little brother's birthday, which makes it threefold as awesome.  ;)

Bananas are actually very good for that type of thing.  2 of them are also enough energy for a 90 minute workout.
Here are some banana facts I got in an e-mail a while back that should help you.  :)

Bananas contain three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy.

200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school ( England ) were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power.. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.

Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.

Oh, I need to try that! I really need help in math. Has anyone ever tried banana bread? If you want, I can post the recipe. :)

I love banana bread, warm out of the oven, buttered and with a bit of honey!
