Jovial Festmasween Day!!

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Jovial Festmasween Day!!

Jovial Festmasween Day!! (though it is belated)

To all you who have no idea what I'm talking about, which should be everyone except for ZB, Festmasween Day is celebrated every February 1st because February has a dearth of holidays and is a culmination of all your favorite holidays!  People celebrate by having parades, decorating their houses, eating candy, giving gifts, dressing up in costumes, and doing other various activities.  This holiday has recently been thought up my one of my very good friends and she is trying to make it an international holiday.  We have been spreading the world throughout our school (which includes ZB - to those of you who hadn't heard the good news, ZB and I just figured out we go to the same school!).  We celebrated yesterday at my table by having a potluck, a disco ball, and singing our Festmasween Day song.  (Yes, we wrote a song for Festmasween Day - we are quite serious!)  One important note: when wishing someone a good Festmasween Day, one does not say happy or even merry.  One says "jovial."  Jovial Festmasween Day, all!

Please spread the Festmasween Day cheer to all you know!

Yes! Jovial Festmasween day to all! Spread it to everyone you know, we're trying to go at least national, but those in Canada and other continents are certainly welcome to enjoy it! (Also Mexico, but I don't think anyone here is from Mexico...) Yayyy! Jovialness and Festmasweenness!!! Yayyyyy!!!

Oh, and if was a very fun potluck :D Whoever brought the carrots, they were very good.

AND yes, Leaf and I just figured out that we go to the same school! So, we knew each other, but not as Leaf and ZB.

You should have it in August. February at least has Singles Awareness Day. August has nothing.

People will feel like it more if it's farther away from Christmas.

February also has Groundhog Day, Valentine's Day, President's Day (formerly Lincoln's Birthday and Washington's Birthday), and Leap Day.

@Admin: Valentine's Day = Singles Awareness Day. :D

Oh, that terminology is new to me! I'm old-fashioned! Thanks for filling me in.

In fact, my friend who came up with Festmasween Day was thinking of having it be a biannual holiday, with a second celebration in August.  Poor August, it really doesn't have that much going for it.

Jovial Festmasween Day, then! And that's so awesome that you both go to the same school... I haven't met any CBers IRL. :( BTW, can you post the song you wrote? I'm really curious to see what it is. :)

@ZB: Does OMR stand for Oh My Rowling from AVPM?

To the tune of: “It’s the most wonderful time of the year”:
It's the most wonderful time of the year
Parades line the streets
And there's so much to eat
It's delightfully near...
It's the most wonderful time of the year!

“For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow”:
For it is Festmasween Day
For it is Festmasween Day
For it is Festmasween Day....
And a jovial one at that!

“You’re a Grand Old Flag”:
It's the best of days,
Just the best holiday,
And it's our fav'rite time of the year.
It's the emblem of the days we love,
And we are all so glad that it's here

“The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire)”:
Bunnies hopping round the Christmas tree
Fireworks popping in the air
Although it’s been said many times, in many ways,
Jovial festmasween day
Jovial festmasween day
Jovial festmasween day.... to you

“I Had a Little Dreidel”:
There is a holiday where
We give gifts, candy and food,
Dress up in great costumes and
Are in the best of moods

Oh holiday of holidays
Celebrated every year
It is now the special season
For Festmasween Day cheer!

“Auld Lang Syne”:
Should all other holidays be forgot
And never brought to mind
We'll always celebrate this day
On a Festmasween day yacht

“Jingle Bells”:
Dashing through the streets
Watching fireworks galore
Eating lots of sweets
And then wishing for more
Streamers fly around
Pretty lights abound
It is time to celebrate
The most jovial day of all

Festmasween, Festmasween, Festmasween - the day!
Oh what fun it is to sing about this special holiday
Oh! Festmasween, Festmasween - it's just so jovial
Now please come join in all the fun, and nothing rhymes with jovial!

“Happy Birthday”:
It’s festmasween day today
It’s festmasween day today
Festmasween day,
The jovial day,
It's festmasween day today!

Ok...jovial festmasween day!  I know someone who had a calender of all the obscure holidays, including the International Pickle Day (in November, I think).  Will you sing the Festmasween day song??
