Is it cold

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Is it cold

Is it cold where you are? We're getting a cold front and it was -25°C (-18°F) in the mountains and yesterday in the morning it was -14°C (4°F) where I am. Now, cold isn't that bad if it's snowing but the snow has frozen to ice. :( I'm just trying to imagine that I live in Hawaii.

Thanks for bringing this up, Elizabeth. I've been reading about the unusually cold weather in Europe right now and seeing pictures of snow in Rome and frozen fountains in London and wondering how it is where you live in Germany. It has not been very cold here in Illinois (just above freezing today, I think) and we've had little snow, especially compared to last year. Right now we have no snow on the ground, so it's just gray and bleak outdoors (but yesterday was sunny).

As Admin said, Illinois has been lacking snow this winter. Severely lacking. And it was up 50 F about a week ago. That's shorts weather.

We've been having 70 and 80 degrees F down here in Texas! That should be summer! However, last summer we pretty much beat the records, being about 120 degrees F and up!

=^..^=

I envy you all! It started to snow - again. And the roads are awful. Even Mallorca has snow (that's an island off of Spain that is ALWAYS warm. It's tropical.)

Oh, but snow is so pretty! Here in Illinois today, it's one degree above freezing and raining. Cold, gray, damp--miserable! If it's going to be cold, there should be snow.

@Admin: There should be snow. But the negative thing is that it gets my socks soggy and when it melts, it turns into slush. (unless it melts while I'm sleeping and there are no traces of slush, which happened a few days ago) And snowball fights, albeit fun, get me into trouble... ^.^

Today was 3-8 degrees Celcius (37.4- 44.6 degrees Farenheit), a bit windy, and no snow. It was actually pretty warm for the beginning of February. You heard me right, NO SNOW! And it always snows here in February. Constantly.

I'm beginning to like 2012. (snow is inconvenient in school halls)

It's been really mild all winter in NC, no snow though.  Blurgh. So no, it's not cold.

@ Admin

I see what you mean! I miss it so much!

By the way, I'm fondly remembering the huge blizzard Chicago had on Groundhog Day. Schools were closed!!

And I like ice too. Right now I like anything to do with cold. Including ice cream.

Oh, and Admin, what's your freezing point? I think it's 0 degrees here, and it's normally below freezing. And windy. Not. Fun.

32 degrees F is freezing here.

It's normally freezing here w/ tons of snow.  Now it's snowless w/ 40s-50s weather.  Very unusual!

@Admin- Yes, you're right, and I love snow but if you were here right now you would be wishing for new weather. :)

Weather Report: The snow has turned to slush.

I agree. Slush is not fun!

You are soo lucky! I wish we had snow! But the part of California I live in NEVER gets snow. I haven't ever been in a place where it is actually snowing at the time when it is snowing.

No, it's not snowing here in sunny California. But it's not sunny either. It's really cloudy and gloomy. And it's not even raining so we can get out of our military style P.E.

It's snowing now!  It's a miracle!  Please don't stop, snow.  I want to go sledding this winter.

It's still freezing but we have really nice sledding snow (not slush!), and yesterday I went sledding and it was awesome. :D

Now it's really cold, but there's no snow.

It didn't stop snowing until about four o'clock.  The ground was so warm, that it melted right away, though.:(

The one winter I actually want it to snow, it doesn't.  That's just annoying.
