Inklings the Younger

Inklings the Younger

For those of you who don't know what the Inklings were, it was a group of authors who gathered to talk about writing.  Some members included J.R.R. Tolkein and C.S. Lewis.

Down to business, Inklings the Younger is a thread where we can post things we discovered about our writing, or point out things about the writing of previous Inklings.  You could submit sections of text you've written and the other Inklings the younger can comment on them, and possibly revise.  Enjoy!

One thing I've found out about writing stories? I know what I will be: bestselling author. Or at least published. In passing--go Tolkein!

There's something like that made up of authors today, except it's a rock band called the Rock Bottom Remainders.  Dave Barry, Ridley Pearson, Amy Tan, Stephen King, and others are in it.  You know, when we all grow up and become famous authors, we should make a rock band.  I'll play clarinet.  What, you've never heard a clarinet in a rock band?

The Gollumses can play bass!  Oh, yes, and does anybody think that C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkein's confusing-ness is somehow related to that they where both in the Inklings?

Maybe when they talked to each other, they would compare notes on how they were confusing people in their next book!

My aunt has met Amy Tan. She--my aunt--is a pianist and Amy went to her concert!

Nanowrimo is slowing down.  As in I'm not admitting to myself that I'm too lazy to write anymore.  And almost every other word is underlined in red zigzaggs.  Blah.  But anyway, J.R.R. Tolkein isn't really as easy to read.  C.S. Lewis I read in approximately second grade.  I still can't follow Tolkein.  Therefore, if we follow the Melody's theory, J.R.R. Tolkein must be a more devout Inkling.  That makes no sense.
