If you could

If you could publish your book, what would its cover be like?

I've already drawn a cover for The Legend of the Red Cloak, and If I ever get it published I kind of want to use that or something very similar. It's a picture of a red cloak flying in the wind from the back on a horse, running through the woods.

But for the Otherworld Chronicles Trilogy, I'm not sure. The first book I want to have the jungle, or a waterfall, or Chim or Evynne, or the door on it, preferrably as many of those things as possible.

Definitely, the colors for the first one would be green, the second red, the third blue.

I made a cover for a bad book I wrote in third grade, it has a toothpick cabin and a painting of woods in the background.  The lettering is like a type writer.  I like the cover better than the book.  If I publish Elemental Magic, I want to have pictures of air (? all I know is that it has to be white) fire, water and earth swirling together, and on top of it, at the top of the page in big purple letters: ELEMENTAL MAGIC and at the bottom in smaller purple letters: BY V. G. BASS.  I have no idea why the caps, but I think it looks cool.

If I ever get around to publishing CODE RED, the cover's gonna be a picture of a red alarm light thingy, with four silhouettes superimposed on it. The general color for the cover would be a deep red, with balck interspersed throughout. At the top, my name in little letters, because it's not very important to the book so it's being kind of hidden. At the bottom, CODE RED in tall, skinny letters. Lettering is a shiny, brighter red. Kind of like the CB colors.

And while I'm at it, TOP!

Good question. xD If I ever published my NaNovel from Camp NaNo June, called Slain By Silver, i would want the cover to be just kind of simple drawings; silhouettes of wolves running through a forest with a full moon overhead. =) Slain By Silver would be written in white lettering across the sky beside the moon, with my name in the bottom right corner.

There's another book I'm working on, though, that's more sci-fi, called Experiment 647. That cover I would want to be just the words in tall red letters on the bottom/in the middle (about 3/4 of the way down the cover) with a photo of an empty hospital room or labaratory behind it. =)

If I get Song of Three published, I'd have the title on a green backdrop in the middle (think A Wrinkle in Time), with the two kingdoms' flags in the corners and the number 3 at the top and the two sides. My nom de plume would be at the bottom, obviously.

If I get Legendary published, I'd like it to be a picture of a girl, a moon and some kind of weapon (sword, spear, bow and arrows), and maybe another girl and boy (her friends). I wouldn't know how to orient it, but that's the general idea.

If I get my Blue Goblet Trilogy published, it'll be a picture of a blue goblet, with different lighted, colored backdrops to signify the mood of each of the books. The first one will be a dim light with a whitish backdrop--the second would be a more golden light, but with a darker backdrop--the last one would be half light, half shadow, with the back being half white, half black.

(Note: I haven't even began writing the latter two books, but I can dream, can't I?)

If I ever publish a book called Suicidal (not likely, since I have no idea yet what it's about), it will be a rose with a dead head and a mostly dead stem, with one dead petal floating toward the bottom of the page on a white background in which we can see the shadow of the rose and something else--either a girl or a knife, I haven't decided yet. The title will either be in black and print or in red and cursive.

I'm working on a novel that I will probably call Different. The cover would probably be white simplified figures on a black background, and one near the right of the straight horizontal row would be scarlet. The title would be in white block writing 2 inches down from the top, and my name would be in the same writing but smaller at the very bottom of the cover.

If I ever published my book, which I am not posting the name of for privacy reasons in case it ever gets published, I think you would see a picture of a girl with long auburn hair riding a unicorn with an evil grin.

Who has the evil grin; the girl or the unicorn?

The unicorn, of course.  Why would the girl be evil?  That's just absurd.
