For a writing

For a writing

For a writing lab thing I had in school, I had to write a poem about a painting. I forgot what type of poetry it is, I think it is Ekpharsitic Poetry, I think. I wrote one about the painting "Paradise (Adam and Eve)" by Peter Paul Rubens and I just really wanted to share it. Look it up, and then look at it while reading this!

I am Eve,

He is Adam.

We once lived in a wonderful, peaceful world,

A long time ago

We had everything we ever needed

And wanted.

The animals were loud like thunder rolling in the distant sky,

But they were nice.

One day God said not to eat the fruit

That was growing on a tree.

We were created by him,

So we had to obey,

Or else the world would be a sad, sickening place.

The fruit looked sooooo good, delicious and devine though,

And it looked like a food that would fill you right up.

We tried soooo hard not to eat it,

But we just had to.

It was cool, crisp, and sweet,

Like an ice-cold glass of lemonade on a hot summer day,

It was well worth it.

But God kept his word,

And the paradise disapeared,

We then lived in a world of dispear.

After a year or two,

I had children.

Adam was the strong, wise father,

And I was the loving, caring mother.

We did all love each other,

But our children had to live in the paradise-less land,

Because of us,

Until the end of time.

Very nice poem.  Except we can't exactly look at the painting while reading the poem...

Thank you! I know it is kind of hard to read and look at it the same time, but what I would do Is look at it before I read it and after I read it!

Bravo to you for commenting first!
