Blast from the past! Let's see how many people want to do this one!:)
Sooooo. Out of the normal style of Round Robins, I'm going to introduce a world, or at least outline the basics. Then you guys can add the characters in and even add more detail about this specific world. Ok? Ready Go!

World Name: Dominum
Only has two major cities that occupy a large oasis within a vast desert. These two cities, are remnants of much greater civilizations but are very different. One has more of a Middle-Eastern feel to it both in the architecture and the culture. The other is more European. Both cities identify as their own countries and the Middle-Eastern one is ruled by a royal family while the other is ruled by a coucil of advisors and such. The relations between these two cities is diplomatic but strenuous. Neither city/country like each other that much, so there is enmity between the citizens of each city. However, the cities need to trade with each other in order to survive.
There are many nomadic tribes in the desert surrounding the two cities and it is a very primitive life but one full of freedom that life in the two cities does not allow. The edges of the desert have never been explored and the people who try to reach the edges are never heard from again. In fact, the maps of the world show just the two major cities, the smaller groups of nomads on the fringes on the oasis and then a large blank space labeled "The Waste" where the desert is. (Think Sahara Desert here.)
The Oasis is not large enough to contain these two cities and all their farmland so some people are running out of food and water. There is a caste system in these cities, but you can decide how strict it is.
The Middle Eastern One is named: Iltashi
The European One is named: Ortania

So I am not going to limit your imagination on this. You can add as much as you like to the world and create all kinds of characters. Basically let your imagination run wild!

I live in the south end of Iltashi in a small adobe house. I have 6 brothers and sisters, so money in scarce. My mother and father depend on my brother Gabriel and I to earn money. I work in the east end of town, helping a richer family with chores. I detest my job.
I'm restless, and never want to stay still for long. That's why my goal in life is to discover the 'Edge" and return back to Iltashi. My only friend shares my dream.

To add to Ortania:
There are different sections in the city that correspond times in different countries (Middle Ages in England and Germany, Rennaisance in Italy, etc.)
Name: Hannah
Age: 13
Appearance: average height, blonde hair often in braids. Blue eyes.
Ortanian Quarter: Lives in the Middle Ages quarter, but goes often to visit friends in the Scandinavian quarter.
Other: Makes selling hats in a market.

Yes! I like it. There are different quarters around the city. 5 probably and each correspond to a different era and country. Preferrably when this country was at the height of its civilization. The 5 sectors all converge on a central market where the panel of advisors live and work. There are 5 and they are voted into those positions and represent each of the 5 sectors. The central square is where news is displayed, the market occurs and punishments are doled out. It is under the jurisdiction of the 5 advisors.

Ohmigosh! your character alomost perfectly describes me. My name is Hannah, I'm 13, I have blonde hair that I wear in braids alot, and I have blue eyes! I'm an average to tall height for my age, I'm 5'5".

Age: 13
Appearence: Thin, pale, long windblown blonde hair, deep blue eyes, freckles across her nose. Wears brown cargo pants tucked into black lace up boots, a green tshirt, swamp green just-below-the-shoulder cloak with a hood.
Personality: Quiet, observant, a fast runner, on the weaker side, yet deterimination makes up for it.
Goal: Find out what happened to her brother, who went to the 'Edges'.

How this city was named:
Long ago a young man named Torque and his newlywed wife Dominic were on their honeymoon and they stumbled upon the land, which was not yet colonized. He saw the land and thought it was so beautiful that Torque named it Dominum after his wife. They decided they wanted to live there. Which was foolish because they were in the part now called the Waste, and no one was around anywhere to feed them, and they had no knowledge of how to survive in the desert. So they (sadly) died of dehydration.
But later when a bunch of people came to Dominum, they found Torque's diary and read his account of the whole thing, and so decided to colonize the place and name it as he had said. They built a statue of him and his wife based on the photos they found of them in his wallet to honor his foolishness. And so there the town has been, and the Waste has been left never built on, also to honor him.
