Backstories

Hey dudes and doodetts! Let's talk backstories! All about backstories!

Questions about backstories!

What is your favorite backstory?

Whose backstory do you want to know the most?

Write your own backstory!

Backstory challenge: I will make up a character. Your challenge is to write his backstory.

Name: Dr. Scrunkool

Occupation: Thief, Evil Doctor

Home: A secret lair with an entrance hidden in an unmovable trash can behind a pizza parlor.

Pet: A cat, with the specialty of always being ready to be stroked on someone's lap

Relatives: A twin brother who does not share his passion and works at the pizza parlor, where he cooks pizza

Fun facts about backstories!

George Lucas will not reveal Yoda's backstory and won't tell us why.

That was the only fun fact about backstories I could think of.

Comments about backstories are as follows below this post (once you write them):

I like the backstory of Dr. Doofenschmirtz from Phineas and Ferb best because it's constantly being added to.  They even dedicated an episode to it!

Of all the back stories I could choose, I think I want to know more of Cora from Once Upon a Time's back story.

Dr. Scrunkool's backstory

The good Dr. was born to a wealthy Italian family in a good New England town.  His father was a surgeon and his mother was a stay at home mom.  When Scrunkool was just seven, his mother perfected her pizza recipe.  It tasted so good, that she knew she just had to sell it to the world.  So she opened a pizza shop.  Life was good, until disaster struck.  A rival pizza shop, looking for the recipe, broke into the shop.  The Rossis (Scrunkool's REAL last name) were all in the shop preparing for the next day.  After a night of unspeakable horrors, Scrunkool and his twin were left orphans.  Strangely, their parents' will was left with instructions not to read it until the boys' eighteenth birthdays.  When it was finally read, it was revealed the only thing left to Scrunkool was a cat.  Distraught, Scrunkool changed his name (to first name Dr. last name Scrunkool [because it sounds evil]) and built an immovable trash can to put behind the pizza shop of his newfound enemy.  He swore he would one day find out the truth about the will, for he believed his brother had changed it.

Wow! Excellent story! Now lets go further and write the cats backstory.

The cat was born in a storm drain to a stray mother, who was killed five months later when someone poured a box of old rat poison into the sewer. The little kitten went out and was found by a kid who took him home. Unfortunately, his parents said he could not keep it and he had to let him go back out. He went to a Chinese restaurant but could not order food because he was a cat, so he climbed into a the fish tank. He was fine by the water, since unlike most cats, he had been swimming in sewer water his whole life. But the owner caught him eating the fish in the tank and chased him away. The Rossis were dining at the place that night and they took the cat home and kept it.

It remained at the Rossis pizza shop for a couple years until one night when someone broke into the shop. There was terrible chaos, and to hide her prized pizza recipe, Mrs. Rossi quickly performed surgery on the cat, enclosed the recipe in a tiny metal box, and hid it inside the cat she had left to her son in her will. She sewed up the cat and tried to run, but in her attempt to flee, she was killed by an exploding window.

The cat remained at an animal shelter for years, no one knowing its value. When Mrs. Rossis will was read years later, there was quite a bit of money put into tracking it down. And so it remains with Dr. Scrunkool, purrrring on his lap, no one knowing of the secret he holds.

And now, lets talk about what everyone thought of Vader's backstory. How do you like the Star Wars prequel trilogy? Comment about it!

Admin: Joe Dosie Doe, I really like this story. It's so weird!

Eh, I'm between liking it and not.  It was good, but just not as good as the originals.

Yes, I hope the sequel trilogy, starting in 2015 with a J. J. Abrams-directed VII, will be better. Plus they're doing spinoffs centering on Han Solo and Boba Fett.

Yeah, Doofenshmirtz's backstory is a little strange. His parents did not attend his birth; He was raised by ocelots; He dated Lindana (Phineas and Ferb's mom)...

It's generally nuts! My fave part of it is how Roger ruined his painting. And then he ruined his own painting all over again, which was too bad for him.

Oh, by the way, everyone's still welcome to write their own alternate backstories for Dr. Scrunkool. I don't need just one.

So I shall create another.

Dr. Scrunkool is a very strange person. As a young child, he was shown to be in tune with alternate dimensions, in which he had much fun and caused a lot of trouble. His twin brother was jealous of the fact that Scrunkool (then called Sylvester) was able to go on adventures to other worlds, and decided to open a pizza shop far, far away.

Unfortunately for Sylvester's brother Dominic, he has picked the place where the newly-named Dr. Scrunkool will now use as his main operations base for interdimensional mayhem. While Dominic was busy securing a place Far Far Away, Sylvester was hard at work making contacts in his favorite dimensions.

Along the way, he (Sylvester) contained parts of his brain in safe-deposit boxes in each of the dimensions protected by multiple man-eating piranhas. For this, he has become slightly unbalanced and named himself Scrunkool, after the "scrunk" and "ooo!" noises that his polydactyl cat, Fred, makes.

Scrunkool returned to Dominic's place of business rather distraught about something. When asked what it was, he merely replied that one of the piranhas got a little hungry. It is to be inferred that he is now missing a piece of his brain. He is now quite paranoid about his well-being and plants a trash can in front of Dominic's pizza place to hide the entrance. At the moment Dominic tolerates his presence there and occasionally gives him free pizza. Fred the polydactyl cat goes around to places and (because he has opposable thumbs) gets into a lot of mischief.

Can we do this for other characters? Because I totally have some in need of backstories.

Good backstory!

Yes, you can do this for other characters if you wish.

My personal favorite backstory is the same as to what I'd like to know more about, since there are so many. Peter Pan! I also like Anne Shirley's back story, because it led up to such a sweet story! It made the story of Anne of Green Gables so much deeper, and sweeter, so that's why I like Anne's sad past.

Okay, everyone, here I go! I'm going to make up a new character, for us to write backstories for.

Name: Harry Finkleberry

Occupation: Comic book enthusiast

Home: An RV, in which they travel a lot so he's homeschooled, but that's on hold while he tries to figure out how to get out of the comic book he somehow got sucked into

Pet: A lizard named Apocalypse

Relatives: His mom and dad and an older brother named Jerry

Age: 14 and a half

Let's begin writing a backstory for him, everyone! Smile

Okay, no one seems interested in Harry's backstory, so I'll do a backstory for him myself.

Here's my story:

Harry was born to Mary and Gary Finkleberry. He already had a brother named Jerry, who was three years older than him.

Not much interesting happened in Harry's early years, except for him choking on LEGOs when he was three. And that time he jumped out a four-story window into the trampoline in his backyard when he was six. And that time when he went to the aqaurium and fell into the stingray tank.

Yeah, his life was pretty uneventful. Years later, he was 14 and a half. It was his 14th half-birthday party, and he was reading a comic book called Looped End. It was a sci-fi thriller about a man from the present-day era named Dexter Ash stuck in a time loop in a post-apocalyptic future. It was a really good read.

So he was sitting on his bed, reading his comic book, when something strange happened. The comic book starting glowing. "What-" he muttered, then realized that the comic book was HOT! "Ah! Burns, burns, burns! Yeoww!!" he screamed. Then, the comic book, with its weird green glow, turned inside out and became a hole, into another world. And it sucked everything in Harry's room - his bed, his dresser drawer, his collecter's edition poster-sized covers - into the void.

Now, have you ever heard of petrified materials? They are materials that got really old and dissolved, and minerals took their place, creating a replica shaped exactly like the original material. This was similar because the portal sucked in all of Harry's things, and then sent out a bunch of atoms. The atoms flew into place, creating EXACT replicas of all Harry's things. The only thing not reproduced was Harry and the comic book that had turned into a portal. Why all that happened I truly have no idea. (Or maybe I do. I'm not telling you, cause that would be spoiling the story.)

So, then, after all that occurred, the portal disappeared. Then, Mary Finkleberry, Harry's mother, entered the room. "Harry?"

No response.

"Hmm, well, I'll check on you later. Don't get into any mischief!" And Mary left the room, also leaving Harry trapped with Dexter Ash in a time-loop in a post-apocalyptic future.

Like I said, Harry Finkleberry's life was pretty uneventful.

Okay, that's my story. It's not so much of a backstory, but it's a nice read, isn't it? Comments please!
