Camp Nanowrimo... again?

Camp Nanowrimo... again?

The second 2013 session is coming up this July.  Anyone doing it?  Also, it's 31 days of writing!

Yes, I am! But really, it's to finish my April novel. Can't wait!

I'm thinking about it.

I've never participated in a nanowrimo, but I'm interested. What do I need to know?

National Novel Writing Month! 50,000 words in 30 days! Coffee! Missing plot bunnies! Inspiration! Procrastination!

The main event is in November, beginning at midnight on November 1st and ending at 11:59 on November 30th. The goal is to write a 50,000 (or more! or less! but mostly more) novel in that month. Now, Camp NaNoWriMo takes place in different months every year, it seems. This year it was in April, and now in July. For camp, they let you change the original 50,000 word goal to whatever you want, be it 10,000 or 80,000. Just Google "camp nanowrimo" and the official site should be the first thing that comes up.

31 days is going to be beautiful- only 1,612 words a day. HERE COMES THE STAR TREK FANFICTION.

Admins, we're allowed to post our NaNoWriMo usernames, correct?

Yes.

I'm doing it! It's not going to be super seriously though, because I'll be in Colorado, and for the second two weeks in July I have ballet intensives. I'm doing it to rewrite my April novel. There are so many plot holes that I forgot to fill in.

That's me, Ivy. I wrote my novel, just jotting it down. Then about a week ago, it all came back to me how I originally wanted to write it, and I literally face palmed myself, and am going to rewrite almost half of it, since it got really pathetic at the end. I am utterly disgusted.

@ Teresa: You should totally do July! It's so much fun! With CampNanoWriMo, you can adjust your word count. Mine was on the lower end, at 15k. Several of us CBers were in the same cabin, being Ivy, Gollum, L, and I. You should really try it!

Also, it isn't even July, and I am currently doing research for my November novel. You WOULD NOT BELIEVE how much information I need to write a proper book on different fairy types! I literally have over 10 typed pages of info on just ONE TYPE! Then there's the other type, also trolls, goblins, faes, gnomes, etc etc. And I have to know their origins and original myths, and where they originate from. It is actually a lot of work. There, I vented my overworked brain.

So, there are cabins in camp nano. Is there something special that you can do in the cabins?

It's 6, 7 or 8 other campers that you can either request or are assigned randomly.  There's a page when they're assigned where you have a message board and you can have conversations and stuff.  It's like a very small Chatterbox without Admins.

Camp NaNo is like the plain NaNoWriMo, except in April and July. The Camp sight is for ages 13+, but if you're under 13, then there's a mini Camp on the YWP (NaNoWriMo's Young Writer's Program) forums. I know that I've been going on for awhile about if you're under 13 that you should be on the YWP, but  really want to find other people there! The other CBers seem to have left until November.

Sammy says gwkc. No, please don't gawk at me.

I'm trying to decide if I should change my username for July, or wait until November. I still have to decide what to change it to.

I just finished filling in novel and user info. I'm 1D'srockstar. As on my profile, first time on Camp, first time attempting horror!

If you read the description, and you know what it's about.. I actually got the idea from real life... disgustingly. One of the sinks in our bathroom was clogged, and a dead spider had apparently drowned in the water-filled sink and had just lain on the side of the sink.. dead. Emma washed it down the drain, but it freaked me out. This is going to be fun!!!

I'm going to wait until November to change my username so it's IvyLovesDragons. I requested everyone!

There isn't enough room for all the CBers to have a cabin together.  They said 6-8 campers in cabins, but there are only six slots.

I've got L (Bang), Gollum (The Penultimate Bookworm), Blackberry (1D'srockstar), BHR (Anne Shirley101), Theo (CandlemanRobotGenius), and SC (Dragon.Slayer.SC) and they all fit. Am I missing someone?
