NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month, which is in November. The point of the NaNo is to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days.

If this sounds too over-the-top for you, you can join the youth NaNo (17 and under). If you go this route, you are able to set up your own word count goal.

NaNo also does writing camps for people 13 and up. With this, you can set your own word goal, talk to people in a cabin (8 people) and have lots of fun! I think it is usually in April and July, but I've heard that the months skip around.

This is my first year, make that month, and it is super duper fun! You should totally try it!

Does anyone have any information to add?

NaNoWriMo is exactly what Teresa said. It's a lot of fun! I did the April Camp Nano, and I'm also doing the this July session. We almost got an entirely CBer cabin (so sorry Teresa!), but it is a lot of fun! I totally recommend it! It's a way to push you to actually write that novel you would "write one day."

@ Lena:

Top is just what we call ourselves when we want a thread to go to the top of the list. It's no one specific person.
