NEW RP!!!New

NEW RP!!!

New RP! Yayyyy! So, I'm starting a role-play where you have to make up a character from the future. NO real names...make up "futuristic" ones! Like Roboto Bob or something. I don't know. What am I saying? Sorry *looks sheepish*.

Sooooooo, just write their:

-Name (they don't have last names)

-Age

-Physical Features

-Personality

-Clothing

-Family

For example, this is mine:

-Name: Vivi

-Age: 14

-Physical Features: jet-black wavy very long hair, huge dark brown eyes, small nose, thin and short

-Personality: sweet, bubbly, not very down to earth, sensitive but strong

-Clothing: unicorn t-shirt and skinny jeans with aqua converse

-Family: mother, father, younger brother (anyone want to make up a character for him?) and a twin sister (anyone want to make up a character for her?)

So, that's pretty much it! Start your stories and I can add on. :)

Hey, BHR,

I love it! I would only change maybe the word "scowl" when you used it a second time. You don't have to, but I just thought it was repetitive. Other than that, LOVE it! :D

And, I WOULD LOVE TO! I love Rick Riordan so much...can you send me the link to the thread? Thanks!

Well, I haven't been on in awhile, have I?

Somewhere~

I don't have my book.

But I am in a car.

I have only been in a car three times in my life, and this is one of them.

I'm not overly enjoying it.

For starters, the car is going nowhere.

The sets are suprisingly uncomfortable.

And to think, even after I helped her just months ago, And was in league with a girl named Alandria, and had simply handed me over to her.

In fact, I think I'd seen Alandria on the streets before with And, but obviously not anymore. They belonged to one of those oh so uptity orginizations.

I really wished I had my book.

Storey and Alandria had run off somewhere, leaving me alone in the car.

Am I being kiddnapped?

Am I being arrested?

I'm not putting up much of a fight.

Just then, Storey comes out of the building I saw the purple light come from. She climbs into the driver's seat of the car, even though she can't be much older than me, which would make it illegal for her to drive.

"Ready?" she asks me.

"Could I ask you a question first?"

She nods.

Questions, I have so many of them. I choose the one that has been eatiing at me the most.

"Why was there a purple light coming from that room?"

Storey grins. "That's what we're about to find out."

Okay, so it doesn't make much sense. But... um.... you can all tweak it. Because it doesn't really fit. But writing! Yay!

@ Nora: Oh good point. Thanks for mentioning that! I'm constantly having to remind myself not to be repetitive.

And awesome! Joe had finally returned, and we have started on the quest, but I'm sure everyone else would welcome a new character! Here's the link:  http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/inkwell/node/121297

Hmm, glowing purple light. Where to go with that. (actually, a lot of places, but the question now is to be serious or really psychotic. We'll see).

Storey ~

Somewhere was still in the car. Alandria and I had gone to confer with Professor Lewis, but now I returned to the car.

"Ready?" I ask, climbing into the drivers seat.

"Could you answer a question first?" Somewhere asks. I nod, it's a simple enough request for the state she's in. Somewhere hesitated a moment, probably deciding which of her likely numerous questions she should ask while having the opportunity.

Finally she asked, "Why was the a purple light coming from that room?"

I grin. Thinks like an agent, she'll be good on the mission.

"That's what we're going to find out," I answered, which was true. It was at least, part of the mission. The part that the Professor had told me, though I wondered if there was more to it. And I didn't find it a coincidence that the light had been the same shade of neon purple that Vivi's finger had been.

"We have just one stop," I said, starting the ignition. I glanced over and saw her surprised expression.

"You get perks when being an agent," I said. I threw the bag I had slung over my shoulder into the back seat. It had another change of clothes, which was basically camo cargo pants, and a black t-shirt. The other stuff inside were various weapons the three of us, medical supplies, and food. Another bag sat beside it, one prepacked for Somewhere.

"Where are we going?" Somewhere asked, glancing around.

"To pick up another agent," I said, returning to my quiet reserved self.

*********************************************************************

So I'm figuring at this point, the mission has started? Ya'll can change it, this is just a draft to get us goin'.

No, anyone can join! :)

Might as well write something...

I am very, very confused.

That word - "essential" - doesn't fit me.

I am quirky.

Fun.

Casual.

I don't enjoy quests.

And I'm concerned for Storey. She isn't giving me the whole story.

Haha. Storey. Story.

Anyway, she and Lewis seem suspicious. Then again, you can't trust just anyone.

I suppose the best thing to do is to go along with it until the mission's over. At least then my finger will be my normal skin tone instead of glow-in-the-dark.

Storey ~

I parked about a block from Vivi's house. I didn't want to blatantly reveal where we were going. You could never be too sure.

"C'mon," I told Somewhere, climbing out of the car. I led the way down the street.

"Keep a watchful eye out," I said quietly. Somewhere just nodded. I stopped in front of Vivi's house, knocking purposefully on the door. Vivi's mother opened the door once more, though this time she was rather cool. I couldn't blame her. Moments later, Vivi appeared, a duffel bag slung over he shoulder.

"Ready?" She asked brightly, though there was tinge of nervousness in her voice.

"Yes, the car's parked down the street."

Vivi nodded, said goodbye to her mother, and hurriedly followed us.

"Where to?" I asked, looking back at Vivi. "Lewis gave you the mission files, I believe."

So, where are we off to?

Although I'm scared of this mission, I grin nonetheless. No use in making Storey and Somewhere nervous.

Storey eyes me. "Where to? Lewis gave you the mission files, I believe."

"Yes." I finger a small, crumpled piece of notebook paper from my pocket and yank it out. "Hmm...I can't read this."

Storey frowns and snatches the paper, despite how shy I had believed she was.

Suddenly she sighs. "Vivi, you have it upside down."

I decide not to inform her of my dyslexia, although she probably is aware of that already based on what Lewis has told her already.

"Uh...oops?" I let this one slide, but no. More. Reading. For. Me. When. She's. Around.

"It says here...'underground,'" Storey confirms.

"Yay!" I glance over at Somewhere, but she has her nose stuck in a book.

"Place your finger on the top of your head," Storey orders. "The purple one."

I reach up and feel the light touch of my index finger against my hair.

"Hold it there..." Storey mutters to herself, pressing something cold to my finger.

"This will reduce the chances of us being seen throughout the mission," she explains.

I pull my hand down and stare at my finger. Sure enough, the neon color has dwindled down to a dull, lifeless lavender.

"Good." I feel inside my pocket for my gloves and slip them on, just in case it wears off while we're on the mission.

"Underground, here we go," Storey announces as we quickly switch into our battling clothing.

I gulp.

Storey ~

I felt a little bad for snapping at Vivi. It occured to me later that she had dyslexia, but never mind. It didn't matter now.

"Ready?" I asked as Somewhere stepped out of the alley.  She nodded, though looked a little nervous. I felt apprehensive too, though I tried not to show it. My emotions were all in a twist. I hated being forced to act this way. By nature I was quiet, and immensely shy. But life and my work forced me to be stern an gruff.

I sighed, glancing again at the paper.

***

"This?" Somewhere asked. We stood around what appeared to be a sewer entrance.

"Yup," I said, passing the notebook paper back to Vivi. I bent down, and heaved away the lid. Inside it was dark and dank. I was sure this was where we were supposed to go, so without a word, I jumped.

Inside was nothing like a sewer, but more like a medieval passageway, complete with unlit torches. The pathway lined either side of a slow flowing stream.

"Well, this is unexpected, Vivi said, landing beside me. I went over to one of the torches, and yanked it down, setting it alight.

**********************************************************************

So what happens now? Nora, I don't know if you had any idea for where this should go, but I had a thought. What if the Professor and everyone at the organization had an alterior motive for sending us on this mission? What if they're hiding something?

This is just a thought. But there ya go!

BHR - Yeah, I'm not exactly sure! That sounds cool. My initial idea was for Vivian and Storey to find out they are both...something special. I'm not sure what. Maybe they're both destined to be the same thing? Something like that? Your idea sounds great! I guess we can just keep writing and see where it leads us!

Vivi~

"Now we can see a little better," Storey murmurs, lighting a torch. She hands it to me, and I clasp my hand around the heavy pole.

"Why me?"

"Because." Storey begins to walk slowly, and then stares at me. "Go."

I hesitate, then start to fall in step with Storey and Somewhere.

My watch dings, and I glance at it.

Lewis's grim face appears immediately.

"Where is Storey?"

"She's right here, sir."

"I need to speak with her. It's important."

Hey that sounds good to me! I was just throwin' out ideas for a bit of direction. Let's wing it and see how this goes...

Storey ~

A chill settled all over my body when I heard Professor Lewis ask to speak to me. Vivi handed me the video watch, looking nervous and uncertain. I walk up the tunnel aways, nervous about what he has to say.

"Storey," he starts hesitantly, not quite looking at the screen. Goosebumps form on my arms. Lewis was hardly ever uncomfortable. He told it to you straight. If he was having trouble saying this, it wasn't good.

"Yes?" I prompted, my voice slightly higher, full of apprehension.

"It's the test results," Lewis said quietly. My heart thudded in my chest. I'd been waiting for these. It was one of the reasons I'd been so tense lately. Frankly, I was scared out of my mind.

"They came back positive," Lewis said, staring at me.

"Positive as in..."

"Positive as in it's there."

I took a deep breath. I felt like throwing up. Fear welled up inside me. My whole body went numb. My knees wanted to buckle, I wanted to sink to the floor and forget everything.

"So I'm dying," I said bluntly. No use in denying the truth.

"Not necessarily," Lewis said slowly. "There's no cure yet. That doesn't mean there won't be. We have scientists working here at the institution 24/7."

"You and I both know that's not enough. We've been "researching" this for twenty years, and nothing has turned up."

Lewis sighed. "I'm sorry, Storey."

I looked down, not wanting him to see the emotions racing through me. He wasn't going to see me weak. Even if I break, no one will know it.

"There's something else, Storey," Lewis said, instantly catching my attention.

"What?" I demanded.

"Vivi."

Another chill settled over me. "What about her?"

"Her test results, though we're not sure yet, may hold it too."

For several long seconds, I didn't move. I didn't breathe. I couldn't.

"We're not positive," Lewis continued, "but there's a chance."

I took several deep, steadying breaths, and shook my head. "Okay, okay. I'll keep an eye on her."

"We might need a test for Somewhere as well," Lewis said warningly. Alarm was shooting through me. How could all three of us have it?

"I thought this was extremely rare!" I said, panic rising in my tone.

"It is! But whatever the reason, all three of you may have this. Now, I need a sample from Somewhere."

I nodded, and marched back over to Vivi and Somewhere. They could evidently tell something was wrong, but they didn't ask questions.

"Hold out you hand," I ordered Somewhere. She seemed taken aback, but did as I requested. Using my pocket knife, I made a tiny incision on her pointer finger, drawing a tiny spot of blood. I squeezed slightly, forcing out more blood.

"Scan," I said to the watch. A blue light shone over her finger. After a few seconds, it beeped, and the light vanished.

"Scan complete," the female voice said, sounding suspiciously like Calista. I walked a few feet away again.

"Ah, we got it," he said, nodding as 3D model of Somewhere's DNA appeared before him. "I will send this into the lab, and if there's any news, I will keep you posted."

I nodded, still shaken up, and hung up. I stood for several seconds, running my hand through my hair.

Relax. You knew this would probably come. Besides, there's nothing or no one keeping you here. The agency will just replace you with another agent, I thought bitterly. I straightened, holdng my head high, and moved back over to the others, handing Vivi back her watch.

"Ready?" I asked.

Somewhere and Vivi looked uncertain.

"Is everything..." Vivi started, but I cut her off.

"Yeah, everything's fine," I said, even trying for a smile. "Girls, we're headed to..."

How's that for interesting and dramatic?! (Sorry, I've got a very severe flair for dramatics, and very sad, pathetic ending for the heroes. As a past time, I commonly think up my own death. I'm odd that way.)

So, where are we going? Cappie says icmo. I don't think he likes my writing. Everyone's a critic.

"...we're going to...the...SEWER?!?!?!" Storey exclaims.

"Gross!" I comment, scrunching my nose in disgust.

"My finger stings," Somewhere remarks out of the blue.

I spin around in surprise.

She talked!

"Your finger...oh, no," Storey moans.

I dart my eyes towards Somewhere, and sure enough, her finger is lighting up the underground tunnel, shining a purple glow.

"Syronide?" I gulp.

"Mm hmm," Storey mutters, punching a quick number into her video watch.

"Professor Lewis, Somewhere's index finger picked up syronide, like Vivi's. It's glowing...green?!"

I turn my head up in a start. Green?

Somewhere gasps.

Her finger is now a deep, neon grass green.

"Um, what's happening?!"

"Shut up and let me think," Storey commands, pacing on the cold hard ground. "Lewis, her finger is - blue...!"

Somewhere's finger continues to change colors.

She turns away, and in a few moments, she turns back.

"Lewis says not to worry."

I sit down in the cleanest place I can find, and look hungrily at my nails. I didn't find anything good to eat today. I pull my black nail polish out of my pack, and put a fresh coat on top of the chipped one. The smell makes me less hungry, and when I wear it I can't bite my nails. It works for me.
Things could be worse. once I didn't find anything for a week.
But things could be better. I regret running away sometimes. but for my freedom, it was worth it.
I carefully put away the nail polish and spread my fingers out. They're covered with mud and who knows what. My face too. Now that my nails are dry, I reach into my pack and pull out a gadget. It's a body heat detector. No one's coming. good. At least they're not close enough to me. I expand the radius of the detector.
It begins to beep softly. I shake it, convinced that it must be wrong. Motion detectors, high frequency sound emitters, they all say that someone is coming twords me.
This is the sewer! I think. What would people be doing in the sewer? They must be looking for me. I feel sick, and now am glad that I didn't eat anything today. I shove my detectors back in my bag, and nervously think of how to get out. I look above. pipes. I take a laser out of my bag, and try to find a spot where there aren't pipes. I find one, and cut a rough circle in it. the metal clangs to the floor very loudly and I wince at the noise. I pull a small fire escape ladder out of my bag, and throw it up through the hole. Ii has rubber on the ends. Thank god. I climb up it, and into the street. it's night. I remove the ladder, and run. I don't know where I'm going. Just running. wherever I find. a tree even. I probrably won't even sleep tonight.
