I'm stuck. I

Chatterbox: Inkwell

I'm stuck. I

I'm stuck. I am so competly stuck. I can't seem to revise or edit the first draft of my book, and I can't get any projects done. I feel like I can never write again because I'm so discouraged by the way my teachers are teaching it. But I want to write. And I hate my story now, but I love it too. I have no clue what to do! I need help!

Here's a few things I've found when I've been in your position:

If you're stuck on your book, it might be best to just leave it for a little while, then return to it with a new perspective. Taking a break might also let the other ideas come forward (stray ideas are usually shy unless the stage is empty for them to perform.)

If you dislike how your teachers teach writing, I'd say listen to them regarding assignments, but write however you please when you're on your own. There's no hard and fast rule for writing fiction. That's what so fun about it!

Also, in the time you're not writing, reading always helps to give you new ideas.

Hope this helps a little bit!

That's a good idea. I only have 156 really good ideas right now, and a couple hundred okay ones, so I do need more ideas.

Overloading on ideas is never a good thing. I mean, if you try to pack too many ideas into a book, it comes apart. What kind of book are you writing?

Captcha says tbun. Tabun is Japanese for probably. Probably what, Captcha?

It's fiction. I'm stuck on editing because it's bland and torture to write.
