Peculiar RP

Welcome to the Peculiar RP, based off of the Peculiar Children book series by Ransom Riggs!!! Any takers? I won't create any peculiar characters until I have peculiar co-RPers!

Just finished Hollow City by the way and can't wait for book 3.

Sorry, haven't read the books. But I've been meaning to ask: What happened with you and running away? Where did you stay? Did you go home?

So yeah, in case you are unsure, I'm in. But I want to wait until more people join.

I don't think I could join, since I haven't read them, but I've been curious. What are they about? Are they really dark or anything, cause my mom won't allow me to read it if it is.

Peculiar Children series is a bit dark, and there is minimal, albeit nonexplicit, gun and fantasy violence. It's about a bunch of superpowered kids who live in a time loop managed by a woman who is an ymbryne (shape-shifter into a bird only, time manipulator), until the monsters start coming, anyway. Before the monsters come, this kid Jacob solves a mystery involving his grandfather's past and finds the peculiar children in the loop. A bit of curse words. Common Sense Media gives it a green light rating for 14 and older. The romantic content is minimal, limited mostly to the typical love interest subplot and a bit of kissing between Jacob and Emma. Your mom may have to take a careful look and think about it (if she has time).

Everyone always says they think it looks creepy, but I really didn't think so. I actually liked all of the pictures. I'm not allowed to read/watch the Hunger Games, but I really liked this book.

I read those books.  The first one is really good, though "a bit of curse words" is certainly an understatement, so if your mom has a problem with that kind of thing...

Hollow City I didn't like as much.  It was way dark.

I can't wait to read the third one.

Yes. Yes. Yes.

Actually, when I got the first book, it was missing 32 pages! (We re-exchanged the book at Barnes and Nobel, so I did get to read them, though.)

I just read the second book. The third book come soon, right? No? Okay...

Here's my character. This found vintage photo, used in tradition of the novels, was unearthed through a Google search from a website dedicated to found vintage photography. It's okay to use since it's not copyrighted and public domain.

Vintage Photographs

Name: Marty Oliver (Often called Moe, a nickname earned from his initials "MO" being monogrammed into his shirt)

Species: Peculiar

Age: About 72, though due to suspension of aging within his home loop he looks about 7-9

Peculiarity: Can make animals and other living things smaller, as is the case with the elephant in the picture (he can't reverse the effect however, and the ability does not extend to hollows, wights, or other peculiars)

Home: A loop created and maintained by an ymbryne, Miss Swift, which is set on the day of July 14th, 1952

Hobbies: Reading, playing with his miniature animals, and studying the evolution of peculiar to hollow to wight, wondering if there might be something after becoming a wight, and also studying in general

The photo I used was deleted from its location. I should have made a copy of it somewhere. Well, I'll try to find it again or a similar one, and remember for next time...

Wait, apparently it wasn't deleted, just something to do with the computer I was using.

 VINTAGE STOCK by JDNight

Name: Sorcha (Irish, meaning 'intelligent').

Species: Peculiar

Age: Almost 81, though she looks 11 (see HOME).

Peculiarity: Has a brain of huge magnitude, which include imitating others' talents. Once imitated, she can do it forever (photographic memory).

Home: This picture was taken in Ireland, where she used to live; about a year before she was found by Miss Nightingale, who brought her to live in the time loop of May 10th, 1955 on a small secluded island off the coast of Britain.

Hobbies: Finding people who's talents she hasn't yet imitated (yes, she can turn into a bird, but although she isn't in woman form, she isn't capable of creating time loops), creating new inventions, playing tricks on the other kids, being witty.

Man! Sorry--the picture cut her off! I'll try again:
