Pirate RP! ----

They had one of these a while back, but it was based on Pirates of the Carribean. My charries are going to sound copied, but these ones have been used in pretend games, and the Shadow was created by a mysterious boy at a park. You must fill out the following:

Name:

Age:

Backstory (reason for their choosing of the pirate career):

Weapon:

Pereferred Attire:

Appearence:

Name of ship:

Here's mine:

Name: Captain Josephine Ingham (Jo for short)

Age: 23

Backstory (reason for their choosing of the pirate career): Her parents were killed by an assasin when she was 15, and the assasin just smiled and winked at her before he left. As though I was some silly girl, she now thinks. So she called herself Queen of the Sea, and lives up to her title. She tells herself she hates men, but her fondness for the Shadow, her own immortal assasin, is growing.

Weapon: A dagger (I love daggers!) which she keeps in a secret clothes pocket.

Pereferred Attire: Jo likes jean skirts and shorts, under which she wears black wool tights. She wears the large brown leather coat and hat befitting her stature.

Appearence: Curly brown hair, hazel eyes, tanned, freckled skin. She keeps her hair in a bun under her hat.

Name of ship: The Golden Raven.

If anyone would like to play the Shadow, that would be great!

I sent another puff of smoke curling lazily into the sky. It was an evening ritual, smoking a cigar and scouting the sea at the same time. But, although I did not know it then, that evening would be different than any other this ship had ever seen.

"Johnston!", I yelled to the burly man at the wheel, "I see a ship in the distance, and I don't recognize the flag's symbol."

He waddled over to the edge of the deck, where I was perched on the ship's rail. Johnston had oft told me it was dangerous to climb the ship the way I did, and I told him that he sounded like my mother. My mother...she is like a far-off dream now.

"Well, Cap'n, I can't rightly say I know that ship ma'self," said Johnston, puzzled.

"Tell the men to ready the cannons." I pulled my gaze away from the speck on the horizon, the speck I hoped was laden with treasure.

I hope you like it! Oh, by the way, what year should the story be in?

I sat sideways in my chair, legs dangling over the arm in the captain's quarters behind a large, mahogany desk. I stared unseeingly at the map in front of me, tapping the tip of my knife thoughtfully against my cheek.

Suddenly, there was a sharp rap at the door.

"Entrer," I said, sitting up straight. The door pushed open, the the first mate, Emery, stepped inside, tall and erect.

"Rapporter," I demanded, twirling the knife on the desk.

"M'lady," he said with a nod. "I'm sorry to say we lost them."

"NO!" I shouted, standing up, letting a loose a string of oaths. "They had more than a thousand pounds worth of merchandise on that ship! I did NOT want to let it get away! This was a simple task. It was a merchants ship! You bumbling bunch of idiots!"

The first mate nodded, keeping his head bowed. I leaned against the desk, taking several deep breaths.

"Who is responsible for this?" I said, my voice quiet.

"Johanson," he said. "Fell asleep on his watch."

"You know what to do," I growled, sitting back in my seat. Emery nodded, and without another word, vacated the cabin. Several moments later, there was a shout of terror, a thud agains the side of the ship, a tremendous splash, and all was silent.

Perfect, I thought smiling to myself.

Alyse~

"Ha! I win! Again!" I slapped my card hand on the table. I had one-once again- at poker. I knew my crew was letting me win, but I didn't care. I still was winning, after all. I pushed my red bandanna impatiently back from my eyes and leaned back iin my chail, rubbing my full belly. We had had a fullout feast tonight because we had caught another merchant ship, full of goods. After the feast, we had settled down to a game of poker. Tomorrow, we would be up and running again, back to normal.

"I'd better go check on Ulysses" said Rune, my strong, dark-haired, first mate. "You know how he gets distracted" I nodded my assent, and he went upstairs to go check on the most wayward member of the crew, which was currently sailing the ship. I wondered which idiot had assigned him that while some I was feasting.

Suddenly, my ship, The Dragon's Rose suddenly lurched to the side and poker cards flew everywhere, dishes broke, and pirates yelled. I was thrown on top of Caspian, and I let loose a string of curse words that nobody should know. Some were of my own invention.

"WHO ASSIGNED ULYSSES TO SAIL THE SHIP?!" I yelled, but nobody responded as we were thrown to the other side. Somebody landed on me, and I felt the covered point of a sword prick my side. I yelled and threw him off. I stood up, took my saber out of its sheath, brandished it threatenly, and repeated the question, this time with more fire.

Shakily, a man with wispy brown hair and a thin frame stood up. He looked as though he was going to collapse. It was Silas, the weakest man on board. The only reason that he was here is because he promised to lead us to The Lady Pearl, the boat that was most laden with pearls and jewels in the east. We hadn't landed in a while, so I had no idea if it had landed or not, but I had a sneaking suspicion (more like mly pirates instinct) that the boat had landed safely. Now was the perfect time to kill him.

"I did-" he said, but his airy voice was cut off as my saber flashed across his chest. A crimson liquid seeped from his chest, and his eyes widened. He collapsed to the ground, dead. Just then, the ship lurched again.

Name: Drillan

Age: 30's?

Backstory: Drillan's real name is, was, Danny. Danny was born right before the age of pirates began. His father, who was a ship merchant, was killed by a pirate captain (Who was dubbed 'Captain X'), so his mother left him with a babysitter a lot (due to her having to make all the money). One day, while his mother was at work, thugs invaded the town, killed the babysitter, and left Danny on the streets. Danny was found crying at a roadside by a group of other outcasts who called themselves the 'Belts'. The Belts raised Danny until he was 20, but then suddenly turned against him. Danny escaped, and, traumatized by all that he'd been through, renamed himself Drillan. Drillan, with his now mastered street skills, stole a boat, named it "The Cutlass" and sailed the seas, picking up a nobody at every stop. Eventually, Drillan had gathered his crew of uselessness. But as he was doing so, Drillan tried to decide who to attack first. The thugs, The Belts, Captain X, there were too many! After he gathered his crew, he just decided to attack and plunder every ship he came upon. Over the years, Drillan trained his crew to be determined, skilled, and blood-thirsty. Nowadays Drillan plunders ships, but every now and then The Cutlass spends some time looking for Drillan's long lost mother.

Weapon: While he was with The Belts, Drillan made himself a spear out of driftwood and scrapmetal. Later, on The Cutlass, he upgraded this spear and named it the Bolt.

Preferred Attire: Drillan likes to wear a cotton shirt, a long black leather jacket with rips at the sleeves, thick brown pants, dirty boots, and a slightly damaged captains hat.

Appearence: Drillan has a brown stubble, brown eyes, tall build, tan, etc.

Name of ship: The Cutlass
