NEW TARDIS RP

NEW TARDIS RP

NEW TARDIS RP

The last DW RP kind of fell apart after a strong start. So here's this one. We should maybe do Doctor 10 or 11 this time. I'm not sure who my character will be but I think I'll make it either a historical figure or a recurring character of the show.

Thinking about how so many of us are Whovians, I was wondering... Admins, do any of you watch Doctor Who? Also, have you guys ever gone and read/watched any book, movie or TV show us CBers were talking about because you saw us talking about it?

Good questions, Joe! I must admit that I've never watched a whole Dr. Who show, but I did flip to it once briefly because it was mentioned on CB.

In my To Read stack, I have one of the Warriors books, which I picked up for free somewhere, because those books were so popular on CB and the cats staged an all-out invasion of many threads, I was curious about them. But I must also admit that it's still sitting in the stack, waiting to be read. Cricket readers did lead me to read The Book Thief, and I followed that up with I Am the Messenger. As far as movies, I have waiting to be seen from Netflix, "Young Mr. Lincoln," because someone on CB (maybe Everine or Corina?) mentioned it as her favorite and I noticed Netflix gives it 5 stars. There may be more books and movies, but that's all I can think of right now off the top of my head.

I was wondering if I could use the same character as in the other thread, Allan? I think it would be neat if we could do both the eleventh and tenth doctors!....? I find it coincidental that I was the last person to post on the previous Doctor Who RP, and here I am writing the first!

My character...

Name: Sally Sparrow

Background: Watch Blink if you haven't already. Then you'll know

I think she should have been a companion. She was such a great character...

I fixed your typo, Joe.

Actually my character won't be Sally but I'll still write her into the RP.

Name: Dylan Styrius

Age: 29.5

Species: Human

Planet of origin: Earth

Current home planet: Telos

Appearance: Handsome, tall, slick, blue eyes, black hair

Background: Used to be a companion of the Third Doctor. Left him when at one point they landed on Telos, and Dylan elected to stay to guard the Cybermen tombs, and also he found it cozy. (He had a weird idea of what "home sweet home" means.) However he eventually regretted his decision because of the lack of girls on Telos. Has lived there about 9 or ten years, has lost count. He's made the best of his choice, but he really misses it back home.

Has anyone else watched The Tomb of the Cybermen? That's where I got Telos from. Other RPers here may want to have watched it just to understand the references.

Thanks for the typo correcting Admin!!!

You're welcome.

Name: Allan

Age: Being stuck in a time loop, he is infinitely old and can regenerate as many times as he requires.

Species: Time Lord

Planet of origin: Gallifrey

Current home planet: None, he has a TARDIS but tries not to use it because one of the only things he remembers from his previous time loop is that he will have to destroy his TARDIS.

Appearance: Tall and lanky, he has white-blond hair and looks a lot like what one might imagine a thirty-year-old Draco Malfoy would look like. He wears a large brown Stetson, a bulletproof vest, and high leather boots.

Background: I would like to leave most of this mysterious until the time comes when Allan decides to face his terrible past. What I can say is that he was at the end of the universe, helped the Master with something horrible and destroyed his own TARDIS, and then got stuck in a time loop in which he lives from the beginning of the universe to the end, and has to repeat his evil, misguided deeds all over again. The weird thing is that he remembers his deeds at the end of the universe throughout every one of his regenerations. He knows every one of the Doctor's regenerations except for the Tenth.

I love Doctor Who and have watched every single episode that has been made for not Classical Doctor Who but just the new always in-color series. I also watched the show Sarah Jane Adventures. It is a whole lot like Doctor Who and the doctor is even in it sometimes! If I could create a doctor for him to regenerate into I would make his hair ginger and he would be handsome and stronge. His sonic screwdriver would be black, blue, and red and would look really modern! If I could create my own villain for him it would be a flying scary fast mean-but-with-a-soft-side and would be called ' Hearon ( Hear-on) ' He could also teleport to anywhere in the multi-universe in less than a milla-second. I love Doctor Who and always will. It's the best show in the world!!! P.S love the tardis too!Wink

Apple is coming back the same as she was before, mostly because I really like her as a character, but also because no one has tried to get her to read.....something which promises to be very fun to write! I'll post her character form again:

Name: the Tinker, but for some reason that my brain has not seen fit to confide in me, everyone callls her Apple.

Appearance: chin-length mouse-brown hair, soft-looking brown eyes that are nonetheless good at rolling and steely glares, fairly small with a light build, wearing jean shorts, a blue short-sleeved polo shirt, and no shoes.

Species and Age: although a Time Lord, she is actually only ten.

History: see http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/downtoearth/node/127916

page 2, I think. She has met the Doctor and the Physicist before (separately) and always has nicknames for people.  She also has a secret that she never wants to have to reveal: she can't read. Of course, that means the best thing that can happen is for someone to give her an important book and assume she can read!

What will be the starting point for this adventure? I think having both the Tenth and Eleventh, but maybe having some timey-wimey dimension thingy that means they can't see or hear or feel etc. each other, even if they're both in the same room solving the same mystery? That would be interesting!

I don't re ally like that idea. How about we make it a period thing and involve some historical figure, and use the Tenth as our Doctor? I was thinking Clara Barton could play a part somehow...

Sure! I just read over my suggestion again and I realized how hard it would be to get it to make any sense.....

The Tenth sounds great, although could we have Amelia Earhart too?

Sheesh, you know how hard it is to stop telling people you're 14 after you turn 15 and have been saying it for a year and now you have to break the habit? I keep typing my age as 14 instead of 15. Sheesh.

Anyway, I'll write the first part, leaving enough room for us to decide on the shape of our story...

--Dylan--

I sat in my tent, eating my dinner: a soft, aging, cake that tasted of vanilla. I'd found it from an abandoned spacecraft that I had found on the surface of Telos in my first three days here. The craft had contained a wealth of supplies and a fridge full of food kept from becoming moldy by means of a pocket universe inside the fridge with perfect conditions to keep food from ever aging. But now the cake was getting old, as was all the other food. The pocket universe had collapsed a few months ago, but thankfully I'd managed to save a large amount of the food first. But it was getting old now. I expected soon either the food would become infected or I would run out, and then I'd perish.

One reason I wished I hadn't left the Doctor for this gray old planet. Others included...

• I missed it back home with my girlfriend and my parents. They probably thought I was dead by now.

• Telos was, in fact, a horrible place to live. It seemed like a good idea at the time to stay, because I like plain, quiet places, but actually it was not, not at all. There were frequent strong winds, resulting in onslaughts of debris which I often barely survived.

• I also thought it useful to guard the Cybermen tombs, but they didn't need guarding!!! People generally tended to steer clear of Telos, and the few who did show up had come accidentally and had no interest in the dormant Cybermen whatsoever.

So, all in all, it was a bad idea.

I finished the cake and went to sleep on my cot. It came from the abandoned ship and had once been extremely comfortable, and transmitted good dreams into my mind as I slept. But now it was broken and uncomfortable, and each night I had unsettling visions of my family mourning me, the Doctor never even remembering me as I was forgotten among many other centuries of his life, and my unmarked grave that would in the future lie here on Telos under a mound of displaced rock.

I fell asleep, to be greeted by more of these sights. But they never came.

*****************************************************

I was woken up -- by my estimate, about two or three hours later -- by a familiar sound. A peacful, but loud sound. The Sound of the Doctor!

I ran outside to see the TARDIS materialising about twenty feet away, partially clouded by another oncoming storm of debris. The doors opened, and I shouted, "DOCTOR!!!" And I ran toward the blue box, infused by a new, hopeful, energy.

The man looking out the doors was not the one I had last seen, so I knew that he must have pulled that clever regeneration trick I'd heard so much about.

"Dylan!" the Doctor shouted at me through the storm, and, at the sound of my name, I poured on the speed with excitement. I had not been forgotten.

I burst through the doors and shut them.

"Dylan," the Doctor said slowly and calmly, "what are you doing here?"

Ok, I may join. I took a break from the RPs because I couldn't keep up with them :P But I'm in T.O.N.'s murder mystery so I might as well.

Name: Casey Osgood (the girl with the scarf in the 50th anniversary. I'm adding a first name, though)

Episode: The Day of The Doctor

I will most likely join though since school is ending and all.

Great choice for a character!!! Does anyone want to do the next bit, following what I already wrote, of course? Tenth Doctor chosen, and Amelia Earhart and Clara Barton will go together. Somehow.
