Nanowrimo!

It's that time of year again...

So: for those of you not yet inducted, Nanowrimo is short for National Novel Writing Month. It's basically what it says on the tin: the goal is to write a 50,00 word novel in the 30 days of November. You are welcome to participate on the website if you wish, if not, that's no problem. In addition to the main website, there's the Young Writers Program (as I believe its called) for those under 18, even though the main website is 13 and up. YWP might have an adjustable word count, I do not know.

All you young 'uns, ask your parents and all that.

My username is Dragon.Slayer.SC; I know I've added many of you from previous years, but post your usernames below! Please note whether or not you're on the main website or on YWP.

Let's get cracking, folks.

Oh yay! I should probably start thinking about my novel then! So, for those of you who don't know, my username is dancingshoes. I am on both the adult and YWP site, and if  I don't have you added as a writing buddy, please send a request, and I'll get to that as soon as possible!

I think that the whole thing sounds really awesome -- except for the prospect of failing. Have any of you guys ever completed the 50,000 words in thirty days? Do you think a twelve-thirteen-in-a-month-year-old could successfully pull it off? I checked out the website, and it seems cool. Do you think it's worth a shot?

For the Young Writers Program, which is the one you'd be doing unless you turn thirteen before the start of November, you can set your own word-count goal. Personally, the most I have written in a month is 15 thousand, but setting a word count goal that you aren't sure you can reach is part of the hectic, awesome, FUN of naNoWriMo!

This time round I'm going to aim for 50,000, and I hope to get at least 30,000. In non-NaNo months, I barely write 1 thousand words, so that just goes to show how helpful NaNoWriMo is.

If you aren't sure what your word count goal should be, there's a nifty word-count-goal-calculator on the YWP website. (I think you have to have an account to access it.)

Hey, SC! I'm truemi on YWP, and am too young to go on the older sight legally. I will be 13 this November, but I really doubt I could write 50,000 in a month. Yes, the YWP does have an adjustable wordcount goal; I've seen goals from 3 words to 100,000. The examples were managed to be fufilled, and the one with three words actually wrote 50,000.

Yes! I think I have this year's novel planned, or at least I hope I do.

Anyways, I'm Anne Shirley101 on both the adult site and YWP.

In the words of my everlasting idol Kate Beaton, AWW YISS.

I am so excited for this year. It's my second time doing it, not counting the July Camp Nano for which I wimped out and lowered the word count goal to 30,000 (then I won that, though, and it turned out pretty cool what with the alternate universes and various paradoxical shenanigans) and this year... I'm taking a basic plot from three years ago and rebooting it. Will it fail tragically? Only time will tell, but only the original premise remains.

My username is ScinTin - I think I have SC added, but anyone else can feel free.
