Writing Block Boxes

Writing Block Boxes

I came up with the idea for Writing Block Boxes a few months ago, and they really help me out.

1. You need a container (preferably an Ice-Cube gum container) for each of the genres you write.

2. You need to write little slips of paper with events that could move your story along. Make 20-30.

Ex. Your main character stumbles upon an optimistic bard(that would be a fantasy slip)

3. Then, crinkle every paper into a smaal ball and put it in your container.

4. If you get stick, pick a piece of paper.

I have this ready for NaNo, with a lot of prompts all inside an envelope taped to the back of my notebook (yes, I handwrite. I only plan to do 30,000 because I'm so busy). And a box full of prompts when I'm not writing anything in particular, and just need to get writing. A lot of them are really crazy.

These really help me if I'm stuck.
