We've been RR-less

Chatterbox: Inkwell

We've been RR-less

We've been RR-less for ages, so I thought perhaps I would start one. Um, here goes, I guess.

I knocked firmly on Gran's bedroom door. "I'm busy. Shoo," was the disheartening reply. A sigh escaped my lips as I shifted the weight of the tray I was holding. It was heavy, heaped with Gran's meds.

"It's me, Gran. Rory."

"I stand firm. I can't have visitors at present," she insisted.

"I've got your pills. So your arthritis doesn't pain you so." As I said this, I felt a tug at the edge of my T-shirt. Without looking down, I knew it was my baby brother, Leo.

"Is Gran okay?" Leo squeaked. "Can I see her?"

"She's fine. You need to go to bed now, alright?" I whispered.

"'Kay. Bye Rory," said Leo. And he skipped down the hall, so carefree. I shifted my attention back toward Gran.

"Come on. Please, Gran. You know very well what Dr. Simmons recommended."

OMG, Choca! Did you really just use 2 names from my favorite book series?! Have you read Wendy Mass's birthday series? If not, I highly recommend it.

No, I haven't. Weird. The only reason I used those names was because I liked them.

What is an RR?

It stands for Round Robin. Here's how a Round Robin works, however: one person will put down a short piece of writing, and another person will continue that bit, and so on and so on ad nauseam. Sorry, I should have explained.

Goodie! Haven't seen these for a long time.

Gran replied quietly, despite her useally grozy atitude.

"I said go away. I don't want any med," she grumbled. Gee, wish she would turn back into her better self. Her real self.

Wish all of this hadn't happened. It had all started with that one camping trip. That horrid, no good camping trip.

Suddenly, Amy and Mel walked in. Mel had dark brown skin and nice curly hair. She got in trouble at school a lot. Amy Pond, however, was gorgeous. She had a smattering of freckles and long red hair. "Hullo Rory." she said.

Rory's heart beat faster and he blushed. He waved shyly and made anface at Mel, who winked at him.

He turned back to his grandmother. "Gram, why do you always wear that emerald necklace?"

(Did anyone get my Doctor Who references? Also, Rory's kinda shy, Amy's nice and kind of sassy, and Mel is a sass bomb. They visit Rory a lot.)

I didn't get the references. Oh well.

Gran blinked. "Uh, Rory, let's just take those meds, hmm?"

"Why won't you ever tell me? It's just a necklace, anyways," I grumbled. The girls exchanged glances.

"I guess this isn't a good time," said Mel, "we'll go ahead and leave." And she and Amy left. Gran gulped down her pills within a matter of minutes.

"How about you go check on Leo."

"Alright," I mumbled sullenly.

I turned down the hall, but then looped back around. Gran shut her door quietly, peeking around suspiciously.

Why did it have to happen? The camping trip was fine. But finding the old lonesome cottage wasn't.

I don't get it. The girls don't seem to have any meaning to the storyline whatsoever. They kind of confuse me. How did they just randomly appear in Rory's grandma's room?

No offense no Brooke, but I kinda feel the same way, Anonymous.
