Wings of Fire

Wings of Fire RP!!!

I'm not sure if we should do this during or after the war; what does everyone think? Anyway, a couple minor rules and my charrie...

1. No overpoweredness (e.g., animus powers, blood-egg fire resistance)

2. No personal connections to the dragonets, though if this is during the war, you may be a Talon of Peace.

3. No limits. :)

Name: Swift

Age: 23

Tribe: SkyWing

Appearance: Bright red, with orange-gold streaks in her wings. Small and wiry, even for a young dragon. Has a scar across one thigh from fighting in the war.

Personality: Fierce, with a temper that is quick to ignite but also quick to subside. In general, fights not for her queen, but for the leader of whatever small group she's in. (In other words, is loyal mostly to immediate authority.) Smart for an average SkyWing.

Reserving spot as water wing, if sky wing and ice wing are taken.

They aren't "taken," per se. If you want to be a SeaWing, that's fine, but if you want to be an IceWing or a SkyWing instead, be my guest. (Or a MudWing, or a SandWing, or a RainWing, or a NightWing.)

C'mon, thread, back to the TOP!!!!!

If you don't top, I shall personally fly with all SkyWing speed to CB Land and give you a taste of my claws, so there!

I'm WARNING you...I may not burn you down, but SkyWings are famous for their tempers, and you're already inflaming mine...

Oh, three moons, I'll just write.

~Swift~

The weather should be perfect right now. The sunset is highlighting the red in my scales, there's not a cloud from here to the Kingdom of the Sea, and the inner SkyWing flame that lets me breathe fire is making the chill mountain air sliding along my wings more effervescent than cold. There are only two of us out on this patrol; this is one of the safest spots in the kingdom, far enough from the palace for dragons not-so-favored by the queen to hide but far enough from the western shore for no danger from IceWings or SandWings. There are fourteen other dragons at the outpost where I live, but they all chose to hunt closer to it.

So why am I so uneasy?

I can tell that Condor, flying half a length in front of me, is feeling it too. Usually he's the least emotional dragon in Pyrrhia (apart from Blister, if the stories are true), but this time he can't quite stifle his worry. His wingbeats are just a little too choppy, he's looking around just a little too often, and when he suggests that we land on a nearby summit to scan the area for prey, I'm only too happy to agree. In the open sky, I feel so...vulnerable? I've never felt that way before. A few minutes later, Condor says he spots a sheep in the valley behind us, and drops down after it. I'm alone, talons crunching the rock nervously.

Then something on the top of a nearby mountain catches my eye. It's just a boring patch of snow, glinting sunset red. But then...it shifts slightly, and my sharp SkyWing eyes catch things they hadn't noticed before: a curved line of wing, a talon, a few icicle-spike horns. And I realize why we were feeling so strange. I can smell the heavy, scaly scent of fear from all the way over on this mountain.

That thing over there? That's no innocent snowdrift.

It's an IceWing spy.
