"Hallo," Shaundra, and welcome to the Chatterbox! You're among friends here in the Inkwell; we all love to write. My name is A Curious Dragon, Curio for short, and you may know me by my captcha named Koda or my tendency for really long posts. Here's a little Chatterbox lingo to get you started.

CB: Chatterbox

CBers: those who use the Chatterbox

RP: Role Play; a type of thread where each person who joins makes a character, then writes from the point of view of that character. Plots build themselves. (My favorite!)

RR: Round Robin; a type of thread where each person who joins writes just a sentence or two, from the point of view of any character in the story. Plots build themselves, and can change really fast.

SI: Secret Identity; a type of thread where each person who joins posts under a different name than they usually use, and tries to guess who the others are.

Top: to move a thread to the front (and therefore most visible) page, by means of posting something along the lines of "TOP TOP TOP TOP TOP!!!" This works because threads that are the most active stay further up for longer.

Admin: one of the three administrators who run and moderate the Chatterbox. Admins are the only ones with the power to modify a post after it has been made. They sometimes add comments to the ends of posts, in italics and signed "Admin."

Captcha: the four-letter security device at the bottom of the page while making a post. Captchas were originally designed to keep out spam submissions, but they have evolved into a Chatterbox culture point. Many people name their captchas (Gordon, Mewmew, Sir Captcha, and my own, Koda, come to mind), and post what they "said" as an afterthought.
