Oh no, now there's two human characters. I was technically here first, but it'd be ridiculous of me to kick someone out of the RP... So surely some sort of compromise can be made? A new race? Heck, letting more than one of each race into the RP?

Regardless, Indigo, I don't think you're alone anymore.

Sorry, Savvy, but we already have all the spots filled.

There are already two wood elves, so that rule is kind of getting trashed... Brookeira, what do you say?

By the way, I have an idea for a very original character, but she's kind of in limbo between sun and wood elves. I'll put her up, and wait for feedback on whether she's allowed in or not.

Name: Tzii Ephenor

Race: Sun elf (or is she...?)

Powers: Though nearly all sun elves have fire or lightning powers, Tzii hasn't manifested any. Although she has proven uncannily good with bow and arrows, a weapon which is not often used by sun elves.

Age: 39 (about 15 in sun elf years), which means that she has almost come of age.

Personality: Quiet, shy, and very thoughtful; would rather listen than speak in almost any situation. Has been bullied increasingly as she continues to lack powers, when the rest of her class already has them. Does not anger easily, but when she does, watch out. Contrary to popular belief, she is very high-strung, as she attends the Crown Academy of Military Mages. If she does not show powers by the day after her fortieth birthday, when she comes of age, she will be expelled. Hence, she studies as hard as she can and spends her free time at St. Vervyr's Clinic for the Magically Challenged, in the hopes that she will either show powers or get good enough grades for a decent job in a year or so.

Appearance: Shorter than the average sun elf, with green eyes (a sun elf oddity) and blazing red hair. Wears the orange and gold school uniform robes most of the time, but otherwise a tunic and trousers- in green, which baffles everyone as to why she likes the color so much.

Okay, so the deal with her is that she was found as a baby in a forest region that had just been conquered by the sun elves. She had red hair, which made people assume she was a sun elf (most wood elves have brown or black hair), but she's actually a wood elf, and no one knows it! The elves at the orphanage named her Tzii somewhat arbitrarily, but the name Ephenor they gave with a purpose: it means "abandoned" in the sun elf tongue.

(is not religious but prays that there won't be another big conflict between Brookeira and A Curious Dragon)

So, shall we start, since all our slots are filled? I can start if you guys want, but maybe Brookeira should start to demonstrate the tone of this RP, and how this world works, and whatnot.

Honestly, I don't want conflict either. It's Brookeira's call whether I'm even part of this or not. Speaking of her, Brookeira, what say you? Is Tzii in or not? I mean, I like the charrie a lot, but she kind of squashes the rules...

Hang on. Brookaria, um, you know, everything has more than one now... could I keep my first charrie?

Limit of three of each race and limit of 9 charries. And we need a fairy, so sorry, St. Owl.

IF we have more or less than 9, okay.

Top! If Brookeira doesn't post today, then I think I'll start after all.

Nellethiel-

I run down the castle hall, towards the throne room. The king has summoned me to an audience, and I musn't be late.

Suddenly someone comes hurtling through the wall.

Atar-

I look through the trees at the end of the forest. I am strange. I always feel drawn to the outside world. I always remember the warnings of the other elves." Don't go to the end of the forest. The men are dangerous, they will catch and kill any elves that they find." They don't understand I want to see the world, I want to end the war. In frustration I kick a stone out of the trees, then I notice that the stone I kicked was made of a silver metail. I recognize it from making swords. It is very rare and I just sent some outside! I carfully look to make sure nobody is anywhere near, then I dash out into the field. My fingers close around it and I am just about to dash back into the woods when I hear someone yell. I can't tell if it is a human or an elf.

I think she's in! Brooke changed the rules to a limit of three per category, and I hope you stay, because I really like your writing.

All right, let me write about an ongoing war while knowing very little about how war actually works!

Larch ~

The field separating Durkon from the Renara Woods is empty; in summer days, it has in the past been filled with children at play, but these days there are warnings keeping us from going across it. In the middle of a war, it would have been easy to breach, but with the high, nigh impenetrable city wall on one end, it has ended up as a sort of in-between area.

Looking at it fills me with a mix of regret and anger. I played in the field, near the city walls, back when I was a child; tensions between the men and elves (A/N: pfft too much lord of the rings) were beginning to rise, then, but we still had little enough understanding to dare each other to come near the woods. One time, a childhood friend and I spent the first half of the day almost entirely across the field, before the sight of the forbidding trees ahead of us dampened our courage.

The people stay inside the city these days. Currently, the sun elves keep the wood elves busy on the western front, but soon the field will be filled with the sounds of vicious battle. I shiver, keeping a hand on my sword and fighting the urge to cross the field one last time.

"As long as you wear the blood-red of Lord Theodore, a Wood Elf will shoot you on sight," Commander Yorlan had warned us. When someone had asked why, he had smiled grimly. "Because we will do the same to them."

Nevertheless, this field holds fond memories for me. If war with the wood-elves is coming again in earnest, this may perhaps be the last time I cross this field alone. I feel a strange childish desire to peek through the trees at the elves' tall, mysterious forms.

My daydream is broken with the sight of a tall, brown-haired figure in green just a few meters ahead of me. Before I realize what I've done, I've yelled out in fear of her bow; she turns around, wild-eyed.

"Don't hurt me!" we yelp at the same time.

Way too many LotR referencese, because A) I can't write high fantasy to save my life, and B) I watched The Return Of The King again yesterday.

Wastmrra~
"Don't hurt me!"
That's the first thing I hear when I go up to grab a nut. Wow. Anyone know what R-A-N-D-O-M spells?

I fly up, the nut forgotten. Even if it is really out of place, it's obviously a cry for help. There I see a human-- a soldier, I note grimly-- and that wood elf, Atar. I sigh and fly in, still fairy size, and whisper, "What's going on?"
"Nothing... Tammy?" he replies. "you are Tammy, right?"

"What other fairy would care about this stuff? Listen, is he threaghtening you?"
"Um, I think he's as afraid of me as I am of him."
"I'll get some information from him," I whisper, and dart back into the forest to transform.

I take a bit of magic powder-- Not, repeat NOT, "fairy dust", I think to myself-- and sprinkle it over myself. I can feel myself growing and changing until I can pass as a human. I take my hair out of its ponytail and let it drape behind me.

I must look more magical than I think, because the human skitters back, his sword out.

"What are you?" he asks.

"Oh, just a human," I reply. "I'm the...princess... of... the town- I mean city- on the other side of the forest. I've come... visiting? this place to....um, meet with the mayor."

"Oh," he says. "Want me to take you?"
"it's all right," I reply.

"I insist," he says. "it's very easy to get lost there."
I sigh and say, "all right," while privately thinking, noooooo!

_______

Brookeria, I know you said fairies are neutral, but my charrie has a grudge on humans. Is that OK?

(Tat's fine!)

(Ignoring my first post...)

I hear two elves cry out and run toward the field. A wood elf and a sun elf look at each other, and the sun elf, upon seeing me, looks terrified. The frost elves are thought of as silent, deadly watchers because our numbers are huge, we can survive extreme temperatures, and we're the only tribe that has magic besides elemental powers.

I raise my hands to show I mean no harm.
