Vanishing Item RP

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Vanishing Item RP

Vanishing Item RP

You leave for an outing one day. Library, restaurant, the park, somewhere trivial- but when you return, there is something missing from your house. A small green lamp with a golden chain. Your grandmother gave it to you, you found it, you won it as a prize. Stories vary from person to person.

But the fact remains.

Your lamp is missing.

There is no sign of forced entry, and you were sure your door was locked . . .

This mystery shifts to the back of your brain, until, one day, you're talking to your friend (on the phone, or in person) and they casualy mention that they had the very same experience. And oddly enough, with the same item. The lamp. You didn't know there were more than one, or that the other person owned it.

This is a mild coincidence, you tell yourself, until your friend calls their friend -one that, let's just say, rubs you the wrong way- and finds out that that person had it happen to them, also.

Here's the form;

Name;

Age;

Gender;

Appearance;

Personality;

Ways they could possibly rub someone the wrong way (I.E. form disagreements);

How did they get the lamp?;

Where did they go, the day it was taken?;

What was their reaction?;

Did they have sentimental value for the lamp?;

Other;

Some of our characters will be friends, some will be at odds with each other. These relationships are to be agreed upon by both users beforehand. And they can also shift. People who originally don't see eye-to-eye with each other can become buddies, and vice versa. Everything is all in good fun!

Here is my character (due to the kind of RP this is, I think it would be best if we all only had one);

Name; Sarah Kimber

Age; 13

Gender; female

Appearance; Short-ish wavy blond hair, just long enough to be in a ponytail, with a few strands hanging own into her eyes. She is medium height, but if you had to choose, a bit on the taller side. She has light blue eyes, with little flecks of darker blue.

Personality; Kind. Pretty nice. Though not really overly so. She works at a grocery store, and while she doesn't meet a whole lot of rude people, she's bound to meet a couple, and when she does, she is brusque and matter-of-fact, not afraid to speak her mind. Not always in a particularly nice way.

Ways they could possibly rub someone the wrong way (I.E. form disagreements); She, like I said, can be brusque, a little short, and tends to blurt out exactly what is on her mind, then regret it afterwards. Not just (in case it was suggested earlier in the form) to people who were being rude or unpleasant. She has a lot of pride, often misplaced, and can be a little bratty sometimes.

How did they get the lamp?; She was at an antique shop with her mother, one day, and noticed it sitting in a pile that looked very much like garbage. She asked about it, and the clerk said they were throwing it away. He didn't say why. Sarah asked if she could take it, which surprised her, because, she had no reason to want the lamp- it just looked so . . . forlorn. Just sitting there. (Her words.) The clerk let her have it.

Where did they go, the day it was taken?; To her job at the grocery store. Working as a cashier. It was a small town, and the manager knew her, so one way or another she got the job.

What was their reaction?; She didn't really care, for a while. She had other things on her mind, like the raise she was promised that was being delayed. But when she talked to her friend about the occurrence, she got curious and started investigating.

Did they have sentimental value for the lamp?; Sort of.

Other; She works at the grocery store. She lives alone. I have no ideas as to why, but we're talking disappearing lamps here, so I think it's okay to suspend reality a little. =)

Name: Cristia Lokhart

Age: 11

Gender: F

Appearance: Ice blue eyes and blond hair in a long, swishy ponytail. Usually wears a sweat outfit and tennis shoes.

Personality: Very defensive, but other wise nice. Gets a little overexited about athletics.

Way to rub someone the wrong way: well, she's a bit of a blabbermouth and can get very carried away... you know, to very extreme opinions.

How they got the lamp: It's a family heirloom.

Where they went: her daily run.

Reaction: well, it's kinda special to her, so she was kinda upset, but she soon forgot about it. After all, it was only an old lamp.

Sentimental value: well, it's a heirloom and kind of important because (see below).

Other: she's an orphan. Her parents died in a car crash. She was in the car with them and has a scar on her leg to prove it.

Name: Alaina Hamilton

Age: 12

Appearance: Dark brown hair that she does braids in-a different style braid each day. Sea green eyes, and dresses in only outfits that her friends like. She's just a little smaller than average height, and just looks agile.

Personality: Definitly a follower more than a leader. She goes out of her way to fit in, and hides anything that would make her stand out and appear weird. She has friends that she's basicly a shadow to, but she alternates copying them so that it's not super obvious, i.e., she'll try out for cheerleading one day, then have the same bracelet as a different friend the next.

How they could rub someone the wrong way: In an argument or conversation or something like that, she'll always agree with what her friends say. No matter what they're saying. Even if the other person is obviously right, she agrees with her friend.

How they got the lamp: She secretly has a history obsession, and while she was researching an era the lamp would have been from, she saw it at a garage sale for a shockingly low price. She got it and has had it since.

Where did she go when it was taken? The library for research, although she told her friends that she was going to see the latest movie.

What her reaction was: A little disappointed, but since she was over that era and, like most 12 year olds, lost stuff, she didn't really make that big a deal about it.

Sentimental value for the lamp: She observed it a lot more when she was researching that era, but since she's studing a different era now and the lamp was low-priced, she values it less.
