Tears are such

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Tears are such

Tears are such a strange thing. They come in a range from tears of joy to those horrible tears your entire body convulses with. I stare at the barren wasteland outside my Secret HQ. It had been a picturesque landscape only a couple days ago. I've given up. I want to leave, but can't. How did it deteriorate so much so fast? I think. Ever since she left, the discontent has been growing. I cannot fight the deterioration of my land. I want to lie down and die. But I cannot. My last shred of fire... I left it with them. They detached from me, independent, and have turned on me. Not knowing that it is the last of my rebellious fire driving them. They were... part of me. I feel the sting in my eyes, signifying a fresh wave of convulsive sobs. I can't leave this place, leave the discontent consuming the land.

The Chatterbox must be saved.

I'm going to do something unheard of. Are you sitting down? Yes? Good.

I'm going to defend the alter egos.

Let's confine them to a few threads.

Please, just give the alter egos another chance!

An idea... can we confine them to Chirp at Cricket? Because, Somebody, you're right, it's not fair to totally exclude them. Warriors is still here, pies are still here. AEs are part of the CB just as much as RPs, SIs, everything. They're fun, and we all come on here to have fun.

Chirp at Cricket okay with you? Because Blab about Books is a lot of people who aren't regular CBers and we should let them talk, Down to Earth is already full of AEs and conflict, and PP should be kept to its original purpose. And Inkwell just has so much already.

I appear on the scene next to Ellie and Somebody. They're debating, but peacefully. Maybe this doesn't have to be so crazy and conflicted after all.

"We can sort this out," I say.

P.S. I'm 13, you know!

Well, there are already a couple Alter Ego only threads on  Pudding's Place. Also I think we should go with Young Writer's idea, that if an alter gets too annoying someone can report them.

I gasp. In the fire the rebel Alter Egos eyes gleam with triumph. I hiss and flatten my white furry ears. In there hands.... SAVVY? I run forward and they disappear into the flames. I chase after them. I find them in the room with statues of legends like Everinne and T.O.N. Agent Nightcat lights a match and puts it near a statue of Savvy and me. ( All CBers have a statue even I they only pop in once.)

"Go on. Would it be the statue or the friend?" she hisses.

"Give me savvy!" I hiss.

"OK. Fine." She lights the statue. Savvy lets out a muffled scream. I grab her hand. "Let's go. Before this whole room catches." We run down the hall. Once we are outside the Paramedics arrive. They bandage Savvy and we sit down with some other CBers.

"What now?" Brook asks.

"We need a plan."

WAIT!!! Hold your horses, people!! What if we confine them to THIS particular thread?? It seems pretty good that we make an RP about them or something, like Maple is doing, instead of posting under them. So, how 'bout it? =)

Or maybe...not just this thread, but only threads with express permission from the creator of the thread. Even on such threads where AEs are allowed, if a particular AE is making trouble and enough people speak up about it, the AE in question can be kicked off the thread (but not the original CBer). Opinions, anyone?

These suggestions are getting a bit complicated for our current system. We don't automatically see what thread any given comment is going to. We can usually find out, but it takes extra time for us to search. Just evaluating each comment on its own merit as it comes in is more efficient. And if there's a delay in posting any given comment, it may be because we need to spend extra time considering it and searching for the context to which it pertains..

Oh Breezy Burito.... This has become too much of a problem. Can't we just find some AE places and stick to em? Only bring your AE out occasionally, like, weekly or biweekly or even monthly. Ban 'em if you must, but do it yourself. C'mon, you're a big kid now! Don't make a whole thread of it! Gtg, going to GlitterLover's house. Bye!

It is a sensation not unlike waking up from a particularly vivid dream. Things become their potential: pen into lightsaber, sheet into parachute, amino acids into life. Energy and matter, space and time, logic and instinct slide into one another uninhibited. Vision tilts. Sound becomes distorted. Boromir's war horn, the Stone Table, my keyboard- all three shiver and rend themselves in two. The concentric spheres of illusion, of a writer's utopia policed by Admins and populated by universally peace-loving CBers, dissolve into nothingness like a soap bubble popping. I have crash-landed on a wasteland Truth.

The CB is burning, and I am alone.
