New RPSo it

New RP

So it has been just forever since I've done an rp for multiple reasons. Time, too many, none that caught my interesting, etc. etc. So now I'm finally making one that I've been thinking about forever.

The general frame of the idea takes place in a dystopian yet steampunk themed society. The world's culture and lifestyle is now is run mostly and dominated by machinery which is under the control of the once good but now corrupt government. Due to the government's corruption, an underground society formed to revolt against the government. Over the course of time however, the exhaust and output of the machinery
began to affect the people. Born to a handful of people were children with extraordinary abilities. These children had powers.

So I hope the idea was clear, it'll cultivate more as we rp. And usually I don't but I'm instating a few rules:

-No overpowering (if I think your character may be too powerful I may ask you to revise it a bit)

-No AEs please

-Please don't constantly post. This is going to be a slower rp. If you've just posted, or recently posted, please wait some time to let others have a chance to post. I myself can't get on frequently, and I know others can't always either. And please check to see who the last person who posted was, and if their comment has been posted yet. It makes it less confusing.

-Please write in full paragraphs, not just a few lines. Again, it just helps to make it less confusing and helps it to flow better. Also please caption the top with your character's name so we know whom we're reading from. I always forget whose character is whose.

Character form:

Name:

Age:

Personality:

Appearance:

Extra:

I've been asked to save a spot for Indigo, Teresa, Theo, and True, so after that I'm allowing about five other people to join. Simply because a lot of people joining makes it chaotic and often times people don't stay committed when there're too many.

Thanks, hope y'all enjoy!

I'm waiting for more people to write before I post, myself. I have an idea for my next post I've been tossing around in my head for awhile now, but I've posted really recently, so....

Sorry for  not posting a lot, guys, but school has been simply DESTROYING my free time.

"Excuse me?" a voice cuts in, sounding tired and annoyed. I turn. It's a serving girl with striking green eyes that shimmer subtly. "Today's special, was it?"
"Oh, yes."
"And for you?" she asks me.
"Same... What do you have to drink?"
"Milk, water, tea, coffee, beer, wine." The serving girl stops for a minute as she writes it down on a small pad. "Though it's a bit early in the morning for the last two!"
"I'll have a coffee then," I decide. "Markus?"
"Just tea for me," Markus says. Nodding, the serving girl leaves through a discreet door to what is likely the kitchen.
I turn to Markus. "I'm SURE you disappeared..." I bite my lip, thinking. My mind flashes back to earlier in the morning, back to my conversation with Evan. Kids with powers... Could it be?
"Look, Markus, we need to talk about this more later, but not now, not where there could be ... spies," I say in a quiet voice, glancing around surreptiously to check if anyone is shooting us odd looks.
"Um, ok."
We sit in silence for a minute, then suddenly Markus starts talking about robotics. I quickly grow bored and tune him out, just nodding every so often and wearing a perputual half-smile and occasionally tuning in enough to add an off-hand comment.
" ... have you noticed that even though the wires are black instead of simple copper, they are still the rounder make that indicates a steampunkian basis?" Markus is saying.
Fiddling with the sleeve of my turtleneck, I interrupt. "What's taking that serving girl so long?"
He shrugs. "I dunno."
Just as he finishes speaking, I notice the serving girl is coming towards us. "Never mind, there she is."
The serving girl puts the tray down on the table. "Sorry about the wait." I nod, just glad I finally have my food. There's two servings of what looks to be a potato hash, a thick mug with an abstract design on it holding steaming coffee, and another cup holding Marcus's tea. The coffee looks delicious. I start serving myself some of the hash. Taking a bite of the hash, which is superb despite the fact it contains spinach, I see that the serving girl is peering at the robot. "Hey, is that a robot? There's a robot repair shop part of the shop, my brother could probably fix it up for you. If not him, my grandmother."
I take another bite of hash. "Oh well..." I say, considering.
"Thank you, but no thank you," Markus cuts through quickly.
"Okay..." the serving girl says, sounding a bit disappointed. She sets down Markus's tea next to him and is putting down my coffee when our eyes lock. Her green eyes flash dark a devious, hungry sparkle in the corners, just for a second, and then she pours my coffee, MY coffee, over her face. Confused, I stare at her. Her eyes are green again and I wonder if I just imagined it. The girl is sobbing and crying out in pain, and seems not at all devious. "I-I'm sorry, I'm s-so sorry, I'll go get you a new c-coffee, you won't have to p-pay for it, I promise!!" she informs us through her tears, then runs back into the kitchen, still crying.
The two of us just stare at the door she left through for a minute. Around us I can hear people slowly resuming their chatter, but it takes me a bit longer to regain my ability to speak. Finally I say to Markus, "Did you see her eyes?"
"Yeah, what about them?"
"They t-" I start, but think better of it. Probably I'm just imagining this thing with the eyes, and the bit with Markus disappearing. Maybe my eyes are having problems, or Evan's comment put an odd idea into my head. "Nothing, never mind."
Markus is kind enough not to reply.
I take another bite of hash, enjoying the way the saltiness and flavor of the tiny bacon bites and clumps of melted cheese perfectly matches the texture of the potatoes and how the spinach pieces add a bit more body to the whole thing.
The waitress comes back carrying another mug holding more coffee. "I'm really sorry," she says. "Your meals are free." She's blushing slightly, and fidgeting with her apron.
"It's fine," I say, taking the coffee. Trying to put her at ease. "Bye the way, this is really good hash."
She smiles slightly but leaves quickly.

Rose has one long post, or two medium, not quite as long ones, before she's out in the real world. I've started writing it already, but it's very long and I'm unsatisfied, but once those posts are done, she'll pretty much have the freedom to interact with all of the characters.

Sorry for the blurry, slightly overlapping image... Just thought I'd share this because I just got home where there's a scanner. (Haha, I had to edit it in MangaStudio, so it's true, the image is slightly overlapping... it was too big for one scan...)

Tris~

I pull my goggles over my eyes and pull on leather gloves before I get to work. I start to examine what's wrong. The ticking starts as I think. Let's see, the water tank is rusted, and the fuel pump is jammed. Nothing I can't fix. I pull out my tools and get to work. While I work on the water tank, I scan the rest of the interior of the machine. Everything else seems in order. I continue to work on the burner.

Eyva~*~*~

I strolled through the streets, searching for the shop. As I searched, I was occasionally distracted by noticing some people who looked as though they were trying to be inconspicious, although the way their eyes darted about was hard for me to miss. I shrugged it off and turned a corner.

Instantly, my eyes fell upon a rugged-looking store, with a sign proclaiming CITY ARSENAL. I felt my heartbeat speed up; here I was, about to see my lifelong dream matieralize. I stepped forward, and walked in.

A woman, looking to be in her forties, greeted me. She had dark purple hair with graying roots pulled back into a ponytail, goggles over her alert gray eyes, and a straight nose. She wore a black cami, leather gloves,  and tough pants that were rolled up to her shins and showed boots. "Hi, I'm Eyva," I greeted, somewhat unsteadily. "I heard you needed an apprentice?"

She pulled her goggles off, laid them on the counter, and wiped her hands on a rag, surveying me. "Yes, I do need someone to help out. You look like you could do it." She leaned forward and said in a hushed tone, "The government demands more weapons every day. I really can't keep up with it. I'm worried about what they might be planning." I nodded, to show that I understood and agreed. "By the way, my name's Ceri. Why don't you get yourself acquainted with this place while I go find something tougher for you to wear? I wouldn't wanna ruin these." "Okay, thanks!" I said.

Ceri vanished into some back room, and I walked over to a rack of guns. Just as I reached out to touch it, I heard someone enter. I quickly whirled around, to see a boy about my age enter. He beckoned, and I stepped forward suspiciously. He handed me a note, made a "keep your lips sealed" motion, and quickly went out the door and out of sight. The note read:

YOU HAVE BEEN INVITED TO JOIN OUR GROUP IN THE REVOLT AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT. THIS IS VERY SECRET, PLEASE BURN NOTE IMMEDIATELY AFTER READING. SHOW UP AT 3:00 PM TOMMORROW, AT THE OLD GLASS FACTORY FOR MORE DETAILS. UNLESS YOU KNOW OF SOMEONE WILLING TO JOIN, DON'T SHOW ANYONE THIS. THANK YOU.

I finished reading, and hastily stuffed the note into my pocket as I heard Ceri's returning footsteps.I feigned admiring a revolver when she came back, holding clothes similar to her own. I accepted them gratefully, and changed. The next few hours were spent in my learning the process for assembling and molding gun parts. It was entirely absorbing, and Ceri was great at teaching. At last, I had to head home. I thanked Ceri, changed back, and gave her the clothes. "Oh no, you can keep them," she said, pushing them at me. "Oh, thanks! Bye, Ceri. See you next week!" "Bye!" she replied, waving.

I walked outside, and bumped into something soft, but solid. My load slipped out of my arms and onto the ground, as I vainly tried to keep my balance. I stumbled backwards and down, coming face to face with a girl my age. I noticed too late that my note was among the mess.

Actually, I'm gonna change the recruitin' part.

Eyva~*~*~

I heard footsteps, and whirled around only to see black fabric swirl past me and hear a husky voice whisper close to my ear, then something was pressed into my hand and the mysterious figure whisked themsleves out the door. I had heard the words, "The glass factory at three tommorrow.Tell no one." I looked at my palm. There lay a business card for what appeared to be a group revolting against the government. I heard Ceri's returning footseps, and hastily stuck it into my pocket.

*~*~

Also, "that my card was among the mess", instead of note.
