What's it like

What's it like being homeschooled, guys? I've always wondered. My cousin is homeschooled, but I don't really get to see him that often. I've always thought it would be fun. Can  you just like go get a snack during school? I would love it. Is it really so great?

I think this would be a more appropriate topic for another section, but that's okay. Anyway, homeschooling IS great! It's not a totally fail-safe approach to education, and it doesn't work for everyone, but I LOVE it. About the snacks, depends on how you do the homeschooling. Some kids do it more on their own, and some kids have a parent sorta guiding them. But I usually eat dessert during schoolwork. :)

I think it depends on who's teaching you, if you like being around your family, whether you have a strict curriculum or not, and whether you like being more flexible: basically, it depends on you. I know that in my case, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE being homeschooled!!! :) I'm partly "unschooled," which, in my case, means we don't have a strict curriculum, if any at all. We spend most of our time at home or at museums, and learn about whatever is interesting to us at the moment: for me, it's ancient Egypt!!! Did you know that Pharaoh Akenaten believed in Aten, the sun disk, and was (in a sense) a heretic king!? *waves arms around wildly, raving about Nefertiti and Ramses III* Yeah, I'm slightly insane. *nods gravely*

*coughcoughcough* Anyway. Do we get snacks? Well . . . since we mostly school at home, if we say we're hungry there's always something to eat. :)

I used to be homeschooled, and it's really great! My mom wouldn't let us just get a snack anytime though Tongue out.
